Well your opinion is very wrong then.

You're both wrong. Ygritte getting naked was the best part of the show.

Yeah, Boobs!!!

This reminds me of The Office debate about whether or not Hillary Swank is "hot".

Of course they are. But celebrities give up the right to a fair trial when they sign on.

Couldn't agree more. Incidentally, the Brienne actress is WAY too good looking for the part, who I always interpreted as a very butch, body-builder type with virtually no curves.

They never should have showed her naked as she's obviously a model with a model's body, bad haircut aside. (And that haircut is awful, why not just give the poor woman a wig)

So would that be, Sansa? I wouldn't kick either out of bed for eating crackers, but between the two I'd take Ygritte.

I wasn't sure how old Sansa was in real life, but the "dirty old man" possibility did cross my mind when making that last post. Ultimately I decided that what's good enough for Kip Winger is good enough for me.

But as far as the redhead question goes, if you like Melisandre more than Ygritte, you have farts in your head.

Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa, isn't even a real ginger. Her natural hair color is blonde (I think.) She gets it colored for the show. Neither is Melisandre (Carice van Houten.)

I'm pretty sure the only natural gingers on the show are Ygritte, Thoros (kinda) and Tormund Giantsbane.

Mance Rayder's (Ceasar) right hand man, threatened to pull Jon's guts out if he was lying, big bushy beard.

And, for the record, Melisandre is CLEARLY the most attractive redhead (natural or otherwise) on the show. You need to lay off the glue, Mo.

Isn't Ros a redhead?

Your opinion is very right.

I've been calling Tormund "neck beard wildling" since he first appeared.

So many characters that they really don't name outright, or I don't catch it. New characters should wear name tags.

AND IS THE MOUNTAIN EVER GOING TO DO SOMETHING........... OR EVEN SHOW UP?

Fuck.

Yep, that's the color mine was before it departed this earth. Only a redhead by facial hair.

Ros... the only reason I can speculate for her existence is to add some extra nudity to the show. Although they seem to be trying to do more with her this season.

Maybe she'll become a main character when they scrap Books 4 and 5 and just write the show however they want.

Honestly, G.R.R.M fans, what are the chances that HBO actually has to take that route because it's caught up to the books? 50/50 too high?

No. Book 3 is this season and next, so I think that's good, but by this time next year HBO will have to ask themselves if they want to 1 or 2 seasons out of Books 4 & 5, and if GRRM doesn't appear to be on the cusp of releasing Book 6, they might decide to take a lot of creative liberties with Books 4 & 5 and then just use a general blueprint for Books 6 & 7.

And that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Looking online, there's an expected publication for Book 6 in 2015, that might come in under the wire. But I don't see how he has Book 7 done in time.

As someone who hasn't read the books, I would have no problem with HBO doing that. They have no intention of killing the goose that lays these golden eggs, and they've shown the ability to hire talented writers. Of course you keep George as the focal point for the story. He doesn't have to really finish the books in print for HBO to know the story. I'm sure he could give them the gist. Probably take 5,000,000 e-mails though.

There is allot of talk about a prequle series that focases on the events of Roberts Rebbelion being made by HBO , I see this as something that might fill in the time if the current show has to take a year break to wait for Martin to finish books 6 and 7. Its also reported that Martin has given his blessing for HBO to do this.

So much for that, eh? Joffery and that crossbow....

Who the hell is this guy torturing Theon? He's making Theon seem like the sympathetic character. I get it he's a vicious asshole, you can stop with the finger torture now and fake escapes, get on with the actual fucking story.

Olenna and Tywin are great together. I think Tywin underestimates her because she's a woman, and that's how she works. He's probably playing right into her hands.

The length of the physical & mental torture is important to Theon's arc. It's also very important for the overall story to establish just how crazy the guy is. They probably won't reveal it until a couple more episodes.

Yep, sayonara Ros. Joffrey is a freakin' serial killer in utero. Gotta be making his way up the Most Hated Villians list.

Intrigued by Melisandre meeting Arya. That didn't happen in the books, and her prophecy about the eyes being closed and meeting Arya again... certainly some foreshadowing that goes beyond where the books are at this point. Does she mean that Arya kills 3 people? In the books, she's killed more than that at this point, but I think Melisandre is referring to 3 people of import. Maybe one is her.

It'll be interesting to see where they take this from an adaptation standpoint. Gendry clearly is going to have a bigger role in the show than he has (so far) in the books, but my feeling is the producers are trying to avoid introducing even more characters with this particular situation without getting too spoilerey.

As for Theon, I'm curious as to how long/how much they're going to keep with the torture storyline. Theon just disappeared in Book 3 and showed up in Book 4 minus a few body parts and slightly insane from the torture. Given Book 3 will be next season as well, there's only so much you can show before the audience is going to say "Enough already!!"

Well it's not that hard to work out who he's with. That's obviously the Dreadfort, he's tied to a post that's the exact same symbol as Bolton's banner, a flayed man, that makes me think he's Bolton's bastard that he mentioned to Robb when Theon took Winterfell.

I'm going to call him Rusty, because every guy i've ever met named Rusty was a real douche.

Look at the brain on CDT!

The only reason I can see for the torture scene was to show the manner of torture which the astute viewer (who hadn't read the books) would pick up on.

There's probably going to be so much more. The banner is fucking skinless man for Christ's sake. All he got was his little finger skinned and cut off. I'm not like a math guy or anything, but that leaves like 98% of the body with full skin! That's coming off. Probably an eye too, balls gone, this show loves eunuchs, one more won't hurt.

If the Saw guy shows up or there's an emotional werewolf.... i'm out.

I actually don't think you'll see either of them for a little while now that they showed him flaying a finger.

"Oh i'm going to slice your skin off, aren't I so scary OooHooOOhOOOOohh guuuuuhhhhhh"

It's crazy how close you are to his actual name, lol.

It's Ramsey Snow, yes Bolton's bastard. He's the one who burnt Winterfell as well.

I went ahead and highlighted it, I figured I was close on the character. Not so much on the name, but that's kind of a douchey name too.

I get it, he's sadistic, anyone who would free a prisoner and them lead them back to their torture chamber, is a bit of an psychopath.

Too bad the episodes are only an hour. I still would like know what's going on with the Mountain, and where's Bronn?

I'm gonna laugh when Little Finger ends up with Sansa as the ultimate "fuck you" to Cat. I can't see actually marrying Tyrion, especially since he's so attached to Shay.

We'll revisit this next season otherwise I'm going to spoil a few things.

I predict this season will end with 2 weddings and funeral. Robb and Joffery's weddings, and the funeral for the Nights Watch. It'll probably end with Mance approaching the wall. HBO loves those cliffhangers.

In the books The Mountain is rarely seen and usually only spoken of in hushed tones. He'll be making an appearance next season in what will probably be the best scene of that season.

I don't think that blade was from an arrow.

Great episode. I loved seeing Cersi once again overplay her hand by threatening Margery. Would have liked to see those Second Sons guys fed to Dany's dragons, but she got got 2,000 more men under her command. I have a feeling Stannis and Mesliandre's role isn't going to be in taking the throne. Stannis said he saw himself fighting in the snow, which makes me believe it's in trying to aid the Night's Watch against Mance and/or the white walkers. He follows the God of fire and light, they are ice and darkness.

How has Tywin not found out about Shay yet? He told Tyrion he would kill her if he brought her to the capital. Plot hole or she's working for him.

Poor Gendry, worst case of blue balls ever.

And thank you writers for giving me a week off from Rusty. A little bit of that guy goes a long way.

I enjoy reading your recaps since you demonstrate parts "paying attention" and "what he wants you to think". More the former than the latter. Like I told my friend's wife this weekend - I almost envy those people that haven't read the books.

FINALLY starting to get into the meat of Book 3. Pretty sure where they're going to end Season 3, and it will be awfulsome, but Season 4 will have a lot more shit going on.

And, yes, that blade was a dagger. I think he has more in his bag - they found a bunch.

I didn't think it was an arrow, just thought it was a blade. And people do that shit all the time on TV. Drop a weapon when you know it would take 1 second to pick it up.

I thought the White Walkers would be a little harder to kill than that, too. Not the greatest tactition. Gives the fat kid a quick backhand and forgets about him? Why wasn't he aware that he might need to pay attention to his back side? And WW gets killed because he takes a dagger to the shoulder? Really? Reminded me of Alan Stanwyk getting knocked out from Gail hitting him in the shoulder with a tennis racket.

And as far as Gendry having the worst case of blue balls ever...Theon is on the phone and would like a word with you.

It wasn't just any old dagger. It was made out of obsidian, otherwise known as "Dragonglass."

White Walkers haven't been around for 1,000 years so I don't imagine they're thinking anyone knows how to kill them or actually has obsidian daggers. And it just wanted the baby, it wasn't very worried about Sam or Gilly.
