Pronk on a roll

Unread postby Prosecutor » Thu May 02, 2013 8:26 am

Interesting column at Fangraphs on Pronk's hot start. He definitely signed with the right team. Yankee Stadium suits him to a T and the Yanks need his bat with so many headliners out.

I'm glad to see he's doing well, even if it is in pinstripes. It's not like the Tribe desparately tried to resign him and he walked anyway, like Thome. The question, as always, is how long he can stay healthy.

Good for him. Doubt he'll go all year without a shoulder flare up/stint the the DL

Raburn... Before his 11-for-13 run, he was batting .214 (9-for-42) this season. Which means he was 44-for his last-247, or .178.

Even saw somebody suggest Kipnis lose his job to Raburn when Swisher & Bourn come back. Amazing.

Here I thought we were finally done with this rite of spring. Who can forget the glory of the past 5 yrs when Hafner had a good month the exclaimations that PRONKISBACKWHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Looking forward to the post in mid July talking about how he can come back to form in the off season yet again. Kinda like hoping every year Bartolo would mix in a salad every now and then.

They the Antoine Joubert of burgers; soft, sloppy, oozing grease and cheap sauce and extremely overrated by a biased fan base. 1) Nice payroll chart. I ignored the fact that the Skankee DL money is higher than the Tribe payroll and replaced it with the fact that the Cleveland Indians payroll ($77M) is higher than the combined totals of the Astros and Marlins ($71M).

2) You got to figure that had Hafner re-signed with the Tribe he would be on the DL already.

3) Maybe Pronk got Roger Clemens old locker. Image (Aw come-on, you know you were thinking it too!)

Here I was wondering whether Ryan Raburn might be dipping into Giambi's 'vitamin' bottles.

;-) ;)

I think it was more Ubaldo who ruined that day.

Like some of you guys alluded to, Pronk will be on the DL as soon as he has to run one out at first bsse.

Heck, here's the typical action shot of Pronk over the past few years:

Now Joba Chamberlain is out with an oblique strain. I never thought I'd see a team where Hafner was healthy and everybody else was hurt. Maybe we've been unknowingly transported to a parallel universe where black is white and....nah, that's ridiculous.

If Ubaldo starts getting batters out consistently and Mark Reynolds is hitting .300 I'll know something extra-terrestrial is going on. But that'll never happen.

And, as if we weren't expecting it, the Yankees have announced Hafner's been sent for an MRI on a sore shoulder.

Poor Pronk. The guy is an elite hitter but can't keep on the field.
