4.30 - Cheesesteaks vs. Perogies

Unread postby bookelly » Tue Apr 30, 2013 7:36 pm

Late thread so no lineups.

Zack vs. Roy

So far the Tribe is up 4-1 on Santana (why do teams pitch to him?) and Reynolds knocks.

Z-Mac throwing the ball well..... so far this year you'd say you'd want him to get more efficient with his pitches..... just 49 pitches thru 4IP tonight is a good start at that!

Gotta love what we're seeing from Reynolds so far..... over .300 for the month of April is a lot more than most of us would've figured.

+1 This is fun! But we do watch this team while on a roller coaster, so who knows what's next.

Wow! I guess baseball with my breakfast this morning as the Angels - A's game went on until past 9am UK time and now the Indians continue to play pitcher piñata tonight. I always paid for my flights to Rwanda.

Today has been a good day (and continues to be good)

Reynolds is looking like a bargain. Should have snuck an option in that deal

Is the fact that Hagadone's warming in a blow-out and about to work his 2nd straight game a sign that he's gonna be the one to make way for Bauer tomorrow?

We have an 8-man pen and a 3-man bench right now, plus Kluber deserves another start or two..... send down a BP arm for Bauer tomorrow and then, hopefully, Bourn can come back to replace Bauer to get us back to a 4-man bench.

Raburn is ridonkulous right now!!!!

Fun night to be at the yard, minus the idiot in front of me whose life goal is to live like Pigpen from the Peanuts comic strip.

I love this quote from Giambi:
"I felt like Mr. Potato Head. My body parts were all over the field. I don't care how old you are, when you smell a hit, you want a hit."

And from Francona
"If you're a young player and after you watch that and you don't run a ball out, you should be humiliated. I was so damn excited ... that's a guy who cares."

Amen to that!

I had visions of Kenny Lofton separating his shoulder on this move. I also wondered a) how Pronk would have reacted on such a play, and b) how many days on the DL Pronk would have had after he pulled up half way up the first base line, yards before the bag.

Nope. Sat down last night but I'll be on the Porch tonight.

That ball was hit just to the left of where I always stand. Can't say whether I'd have made the play or not.

The guy who muffed it looked suicidal once that ball fell off his mitts back onto the field. He looked like he had just dropped the Bonds 71st HR ball, not one off of the bat of Stubb's

19 feet is a pretty good drop. If he'd have jumped the right way, he could have achieved suicide.

Unrelated, the guy who threw back Utley's HR (with a cute girl in an Utley jersey one section over who wanted the ball) barely made it 40 feet onto the field. If you're going to throw a ball back and get kicked out, at least get the damn thing close to the infield.

I never really understood why anyone would throw a HR ball back + getting thrown out in the process of doing it.

The ball will be worth something. I saw something on tv years ago where there was a guy who works for MLB authenticity program and gives a COA. Sell that shit on EBay fool

Well, to him, there must be value in triumphantly rejecting the ball.

The monetary value he places on that must > selling it or meeting the girl.

Everyone starts chanting for the guy (or girl) to throw it back. So they oblige. And they get kicked out while everyone boos the police and the usher for adhering to ballpark and American League policy.

If Bauer can have a quality start, it will be a huge sign for this team. I've said it before and I'll say it again; this team, this year, will be as successful as Carrasco and Bauer.
