It's pretty sad that we are only to game 21 and people have already lost interest. I thought the home opening series spanking by the Yankees and the untimely injuries just completely derailed any momentum we started the season with. The suckitude of Uball4do and the slow start by so many key players hasn't helped either.

I'm not sure how I feel about Mike Brown's return but we better get the ping pong balls to fall our way or the Cavs will be facing another barely watchable season.

And I'm not quite sure what the hell the Browns are doing.

I want to believe. I was 8 years old when we last were the champions of something. I want to wake up every morning and read good things about my favorite city and teams. I want to come back to Cleveland for one championship parade before I die.

I just don't see much hope of that happening before I am finally on the wrong side of the dirt one day.

Yet every day I come back for more......a glutton for punishment I guess.

We have got to face Lee and Halladay as well when we come home. I feel like we are facing tough starters nearly every night. We need a real lump of garbage on the mound to help us get out of this funk

They'll hit. It's just a matter of when.

10 games without Bourn and they've scored 41 runs. 19 were in one game.

When it rains, it pours. Ball hits lip of infield grass and stays down. Broken bat single to center. Weak roller to 2B. Another run.

Pretty hard to watch right now.

I swear Droobs has been playing so far this season like a guy who wanted to be traded in the off-season and he's pissed and giving very little effort both at the plate and on the field. Too bad we DIDN'T trade him 'cuz we won't get a bad of dog droppings with the way he's played so far this year.

KC only has 2 more hits but yet they have 9 more runs

That kind of trend is very familiar.
No clutch hitting. Even struggling to get a multi-hit inning these days

That was sad. The only thing to look forward to in an Indians week is Masterson's start. when he isn't great it pretty much ruins the whole week. I take solace in the fact the Browns got that killer safety from Notre Dame who played in 1 or 2 games this year.

well, Cabrera did fast track it past Kipnis in our DP combo's valiant race to the Mendoza line this year so all was not lost in game 1. There is no possible way game 2 can be worse so there is that too.

Well, at least in game 2 Kluber looks amazing. Other than that freak pop-hit (though Carlos had the same thing) guy should be pitching a shutout. Last 10 Royals have gone down looking helpless. You can see his arm slot is locked in and they have no idea if it's a FB or one of his two breaking pitches (one at 81 the other at 90).

Gomes catches him well too.

No he's probably not that good, but he's certainly better than three fifths of our original rotation coming out of spring training. Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles can see our starting rotation should be Masterson, McAlister, Carrasco, Bauer and Kluber. Most will say I'm wrong on that, but I'm really not.

I happen to like Kluber. Bernie Pleskoff, a former scout and now MLB.com contributor, and I had a back and forth prior to the season on Twitter about McAllister and Kluber and he thinks both pitchers can be fixtures in the middle/back-end of the rotation.

There's a little bit of smoke and mirrors in there because Kluber's posting MLB BB/9 rates that are much better than his minor league totals, so that's something to watch. It's still really early and the sample sizes aren't big enough to make a determination on his advanced metrics and projections. But, to date, he has struck out an above average number of batters, has issued a below average number of walks, and has pitched pretty well. The long ball killed him last year, which happens with guys who throw a lot of strikes. He also got hit in the first couple innings of most of his starts last season, so he never got the chance to settle in.

I think he could top out as a #4 starter or be a quality #5.

Speaking of sample sizes, the sample of Yan Gomes's games caught is too small to make a determination on if there's merit to it or not, but pitchers have a 3.44 ERA with Gomes behind the plate, and that includes Carrasco and Myers against the Yankees in that 14-run outburst. Santana, meanwhile, has a 4.96 cERA. It's probably just a coincidence, but we are all aware of how poor Santana is behind the plate and I've taken issue with his game calling a lot already this season.

I rarely get to see how the guys look when playing since I listen via MLB audio. And if I was watching I don't know enough to evaluate anyway. But from the comments Tito has made to Hammy when discussing Gomes it seems like he's pretty high on the guy and wants him to be an everyday MLB catcher. JMO but I wouldn't be surprised if they move Santana to first next year (Reynolds is on a one-year contract) and made Gomes the primary catcher.

Nah, I can't sit and watch because the game seems to take forever - and not in a good way. I enjoy listening to Hammy. And when the game goes into the tank he can be very entertaining. Plus, even if I was watching it I couldn't figure out what they're doing like you guys. Arm slot? Shoulder drop? I'm not very fluent in "baseball". But I can speak culinary with ease. ;-) ;)

The two streams have rarely been in sync for us. When the Tribe is the freebie game DH will get the game on our 48" flat screen (he has our old tower computer connected to the TV - we don't have cable/dish/any pay service yet we can see most anything we want online) and I'll have the audio playing on the laptop. You usually see the play before you hear the play - but that doesn't make Hammy's calls any less...unique! It's fun to see how he homer-izes a meh play on occasion. Image

When you get the Premium service, MLB.tv does it for you through the one window and it sync's perfectly.

They sync the video from the TV broadcast and the audio from the radio? Just via an internet connection, not cable or dish? 'Cuz we don't have cable or dish. Not that we'd get it anyway since I don't like to sit down and watch baseball on TV! I learned baseball listening to it on the radio with my Mom. Never could get into watching it - unless there's a rhubarb on the field!
