I have a terrible record starting these.

Curious to see how Yan Gomes handles catching Ubaldo.

How does a pto pither just completely neglect checking first? How has he not learned to make the runner stop? Cliff Lee had a horrible move to first but he would at least hold the ball to keep the guy at first close. Bullshit.

The lost look of Ubaldo, every outing he has the same look like a lost and beaten puppy. This has to be pure hell for him to go through.

That ball that Gomes hit to center was a rocket. Raw power on that guy.

Ubaldo has set down 11 in a row. Cue up the blind optimism and what if statements.

This Ubaldo is getting away with a lot of shit in the middle of the plate and is pitching against a collection of Triple-A hitters plus Jose Altuve.

Matt Underwood is brutal.

No one who has ever played an organized baseball game whether high school, college, whatever, and refers to (much less says) a home run as a 'dinger'.

God he's horrible.

But Drew Stubbs is having a pretty solid afternoon. The HR is nice, but Ubaldo may have melted down to fat and wax if Stubbs doesn't make the 1st inning catch that turned into a DP.

This is a medium leverage spot. This needs to be Joe Smith, not Cody Allen.

I, for one, enjoyed his discussion of trains and if somebody "drives one" or not.

But, that doesn't hold a candle to his concern about if Katie Witham, who is undoubtedly overpaid for what she provides to the broadcast and to other Fox Sportstime Ohio programming, paid for that guy's popcorn out of her own pocket.

As awful as he has looked at the plate at times, I'd still take .264 with a .350 OBP all day long from him. Seems unsustainable with the ridiculous K rate, but, he really hasn't been that bad.

Nice work by Cody Allen, but I still don't like that managerial decision.

Agree. To this point he has been a slightly better version than what we could have reasonably expected. I'll take it if he can sustain it.

Props to Francona for walking Altuve. Generally hate the IBB, but that was the right move.

On to Chicago.

A series win is a series win...... even against Houston.

That was a nail biter, and I was watching it on delay!

Ubaldo.... well, he was a Drew Strubbs missed catch away from a meltdown..... even with that, he was just OK-ish..... to be fair the Altuve triple should've been caught by Raburn.

The Mafia didn't slam the door shut.... more closed it gently - way more base runners than they would've liked!

Genuinely asking, is that even a debate statistically? I can understand not wanting to load the bases and remove your margin for error if it's tied. But with a one run lead that seemed like a no brainer to walk a good hitter like Altuve and set up the DP. The winning run was on second anyway.
