Why is Brantley hacking first pitch? Give Bourn a chance to steal.

Also, Cabrera's pitch recognition is terrible so far.

Why is it our best performing hitters are getting injured?

Why can't Chisenhall take a ball to the groin or something

swing at a ball at your ankles instead of taking the walk to get yourself(the tying run) on base

Can we drop A-Cab in the lineup now

Could had been worse.. a lot worse. I'd take a cut finger/hand rather than a broken one.

Been a long time since I seen an Indians runner slid into 1st to avoid the tag. I like this Bourn :thumb up: Hope he isn't out too long

Man, I can't remember so many injuries and roster moves this early. Let's see, we've got Santana, Marson, Kipnis, and Bourn. Am I missing anyone? Not to mention Albers (paternity), Bauer and Kluber (spot starts), and Carrasco (general dumbassery).

You're assuming it's only a cut hand.

The last guy I can remember regularly sliding into 1B was Vizquel.... he didn't just do it to avoid tags though - did it a lot on close plays.

Couldn't help but notice the little boy not paying attention after Nick Swisher coudln't get that foul ball in the stands by 1B. The entire time that kid was looking away ... probably checking out all the T&A

Yeah I am assuming. Just hope they don't do a Josh Cribbs and wrap a "used" towel around it.

And for sliding head first into 1st... I don't think it really makes the runner reach the base faster. Just my $.02

Great AB by Carlos..... we need him back in the lineup full time.

Bats continue to be streaky overall (that'll happen when you've got 3 or more guys slumping at the same time).

Oh well, won the series and Myers was decent, so I guess that's a positive.

Bourn with 5 stitches in his finger laceration and won't be able to play until they're removed.

So, probably gonna miss at least the entire Red Sox series and maybe more.

The end result of the slide into first wasn't good, but it could've been uglier if Bourn had run through the bag and got tangled up with Thornton.

Ah well. Won the series. Can't waste Myers's good starts, but the late life on Peavy's fastball was pretty tough today. Every game they win with Asdrubal hitting .120, Santana out of the lineup, Kipnis batting .120 and a game within the division is good.

Take 2 of 3 from Boston.

I like the matchups for the BoSox series, even though we face Lester in the finale I have confidence that McAllister can keep us in that one aswell.

I never like any matchup that includes Ubaldo Jimenez. I wish we were seeing Dumpster instead of Lester, but it is what it is.

Just take Tuesday's game and then worry about the rest.

What is wrong with Cabrera? He looks absolutely lost at the plate.

Minus the fact that Paul Byrd is a God-fearing man who would never hit a woman and Brett Myers is pretty much an asshole.

In retrospect, the FB tendencies of Byrd aren't close to the GB tendencies of Myers. But, I'd take 15-9 4.59 from Myers, for whatever that's worth.

Myers doesn't want to pitch like Paul Byrd in 2007.

Cause that's one to try to find a stat angle on.....good Christ was Paul Byrd about the luckiest guy on the GD planet that year. MISSLES right at guys. Outfielders catchin' balls at the track. Hell. Myers could pitch like that and hang a 6.00 and not make it to the end of the year.

By the way, encouraging today, cause if Myers ain't in the rotation at years end, it's going to be a poor year. Gotta have him.

No, I know. That's exactly what I mean. A veteran guy who seemingly knows how to pitch that gets away with a lot of slop in the middle of the dish.

Byrd's 2007 is a joy to study if you're somebody who likes advanced metrics like I do. Really, really interesting.
