I really want to see a quality start from Myers today.
Brantley in the 3 hole is a sublime idea

I can't believe we are going to be subjected to another Brett Myers start...time to load the fantasy lineup with White Sox I guess :thud:

Maybe my crappy luck will help get Myers on track

Do you think if Myers has another bad outing, that maybe Dice-K gets a shot? Maybe it's too early to think like that..

And I like that Francona didn't give Reynolds or Swisher the day off... I just remember Acta would pull some shit like that the previous 2 season (maybe I'm incorrect, but that's how it sticks out in my mind) Guy has a big day, hits a HR, etc etc... and the next day he's riding the bench.

Depends what you mean by 'bad outing'. If he can go 6-7 innings but allows 4-5 runs then he'll make another start.
If he is chased out of the game before he can complete 4 frames then I can see the possibility of a temporary move to the bullpen, although I still think he will make his next scheduled start.

Dice-K walked 5 in 2.1 innings in his only AAA start. He's far from ready. Also walked off the mound with the trainer when he left the game.

Myers gets an extended leash based on his contract.

Good day to get Giambi in the lineup and utilise Swishers flexibility and move him to RF.

Really need AC to get going and, for that matter, Brantley too..... we may have been gushing over Michael at the start of the year but, since the 2nd game of the season he hasn't hit either (3-for-24).

Myers...... we'll let's just hope he keeps it under 8 runs allowed.

Raburn has an awesome slash line against Peavy: .222/.200/.889./1.089.

Both his hits are home runs.

Reynolds 2-for-17. Brantley 3-for-16. Swisher 1-for-9.

I pegged Peavy as a regression candidate entering the season. Hopefully I'm right and we can get after him today because we'll probably need 6+ to win.

Wow. I haven't kept tabs on the AA-AAA farm teams so far yet. Doesn't sound good with him leaving the game with the trainer..

Clippers PBP man tweeted that Dice-K's making his scheduled start on Wednesday, so he must be alright physically.

I'm hopeful Reynolds continues to punish Pale Hose pitching and we get the sweep.

Obviously really early, but Myers has a better tempo today. Mixed his pitches nicely that inning. Used the sinker on the inner half to set up the slider away. Kept the ball down.

Seems like he's working quicker. I wonder if he's just one of those pitchers that has to get into a rhythm.

He really has to get the ball down in the zone, which he is doing today...so far.

Thinking this is an article idea...but Brett Myers 2013 = Paul Byrd 2007?

Minus the fact that Paul Byrd is a God-fearing man who would never hit a woman and Brett Myers is pretty much an asshole.

In retrospect, the FB tendencies of Byrd aren't close to the GB tendencies of Myers. But, I'd take 15-9 4.59 from Myers, for whatever that's worth.

For being billed as a average to below average defensive catcher, I've been extremely impressed with Yan Gomes behind the dish. Framing pitches well. A couple of good throws. Really working the pitchers through jams nicely. Impressive.

That stinks but, hard not to be happy with 2 runs in 6IP for Myers.

Now just need the bats to wake the fuck up!

Unfortunate. I agree with the decision to leave Myers in.

Gotta score more than one run.

I've never wanted to smack someone square in the face more than I do Bo Jackson!

These "I'm Bo Jackson" ads on MLB.tv are making my ears bleed.
