Jason Campbell has already been on about 3 or 4 teams with simply AWFUL quarterback situations.

And never helped a one of em' come out of it.

Frankly, I'd rather have someone I don't KNOW stinks, and give them the shot should opportunity arise.

If Jason Campbell is playing significant downs for you, you stink.

You can look it up.

What are Weed's and Colt's contract status?

It wouldn't surprise me a bit if neither were in Browns camp.

McCoy makes 2.325Million this season.

Weeden makes $757k this season, 1.124M next season and 1.492 in 2015.

Weeden's deal was 4 years, $8 million with $7.5million guaranteed

So doing the math he likely had a $3-$3.5million signing bonus.

Cheap to keep but just as cheap to jettison.

That's why teams will make runs at potential QBs in first round, as I was saying up top. It costs next to nothing to take a flier financially.

Doesn't the player have to have shown some skills in the first place to claim they've "diminished"?

Well, Dawson certainly had skills, but that didn't prevent these D-bags from showing him the door.

"Hi, I'm Joe Banner, I've got a team with enough holes to make Swiss cheese jealous, so I'm going to needlessly create one more hole on this team in a way that makes sure the next person to come along will automatically be hated just for not being Phil Dawson."

Hiko, I think you should lobby for Colt McCoy to be the new kicker, so when he misses the first 30-yard kick, you can revel in the "Boos" while he runs for his life.

It's all about my own personal entertainment now.

I like Dawson as much as the next guy, but exactly how much we're they supposed to pay a kicker?

Like Brady Quinn, Derek Anderson, Tim Couch, and a host of others before him, it's not about him being reviled, it's about him being gone. Probably the way I'll feel about Weeden after this season.

A lot of the fanbois go away after their QB gets the boot, leaving behind just a bitter few that "hope he comes back and kicks our butts" and then 5 years from now bemoan that "he never got a chance". Those are easy to ignore.

$19,500.

You are SO close, it's silly. The movies share a common actor and the "$19,500" line was spoken to Maureen Stapleton.

For some reason Michael Keaton popped ino my head immediately on that. My second guess was Johnny Dangerously, but, full disclosure, I googled a pic of Maureen Stapleton to confirm it.

Yep, Johnny Dangerously. Amazing leap with Keaton. Stapleton asks the old lady janitor what it will cost to keep her quiet. Her reply: "Nineteen thousand five hundred dollars," which Stapleton immediately pulls out of her purse. I still think that's hysterical.

FWiW

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 1m Chip Kelly keeps remaking roster: Eagles traded RB Dion Lewis to Browns for LB Emmanuel Acho.

Meh...

Quick, small, not fast, not great in pass protection or great catching the ball. Change of pace guy.

Guess every team needs a midget, change of pace guy.

Love how acquiring Emmanuel Acho gets described as "Chip Kelly remaking the roster".

Sucks for Shurmur - he just lost a key weapon. :zzzzzz

With the biannual regime changes, it's tough to keep track of just exactly which sets of player deficiencies are currently in vogue.

Thank God with the addition of Lewis we won't be looking at RB in the 1st Round.

True. Especially since we also took a midget who is quick but not fast, dances too much at the los and doesn't block/catch the ball all that well with the third pick last April.

We're deep on those guys.

I hear they're converting Travis Benjamin to RB, too.
