I missed all this the first time around, well done Pup. As a dad trying to help find the right school for his kid to play college baseball, I can totally appreciate this effort you made. I am guessing it helped him tremendously.

In our case the school that really wants him is a high-end academic school and gave zero merit money for grades. As much as the kid wants to play there, I can't picture them knocking down the 52K nut very much, because unlike football and hoops baseball... money is not quite as large. So it's back to the drawing board, and at this late in the process it's nerve-wracking.

Considering how incredibly shitty most D2 schools are (like worse than Akron shitty) Mercyhurst is a gem. Nice campus, nice place, solid school. Yeah, well done.

Ask him if they have a plaque out in the bullpen honoring the greatest bullpen catcher in the history of the University.

How is Mercyhurst compared to Gannon, since I was tipped off Gannon was taking a peak at my kid.

Depends what he wants to study. Mercyhurst has a better campus and is in a much better part of town, much better history department. Gannon has a very good P.A. and pharmacutical program. I have no experience with the Gannon coaching staff, but Mercyhurst still has the same coach as when I was there. I did have a couple of buddies who played for Gannon, they didn't have any major complaints.

I'm guessing Mercyhurst is more expensive, but not positive.
