ABC tried hard to screw it up. The background sound track was so loud during the first two episodes that you couldn't hear what the characters were saying. Complaints all over the ABC.com boards. That problem was finally corrected for Week 3.

Concept a bit different for commercial TV, sort of a National Treasure/DaVinci Code treasure hunt. Twelve clocks the main characters must hunt down to avoid the end of the world!!! Don't know how much longer I'll tune in, because I don't see the series coming to a satisfying end. ABC will at some time cancel it without completing the story. ABC and NBC are real good at that.

Two positives about Zero Hour: Michael Nyqvist (original "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo") is the antagonist. Love the guy. Carmen Agojo ain't hard to look at, either.

Jerry - ABC did screw it up for me. 1 1/2 episodes and I'm out. I couldn't take it any more. The sound was so bad the second episode I couldnt figure out what anyone was saying, and it wasn't even close to good enough to power through.

It didn't seem to me to be any big loss because, although with better sound I would have given it longer, I wasn't holding out much hope tht it would be anything other than a giant turd.

I wanted to give Zero Hour a shot, but missed the first couple episodes. Saw the ratings, and doubt it lasts past season 1. Really no point in watching it now.

The Following got lazy. Everything posted above is correct. I'm just about out on it.

The Americans is fantastic, and I'm always surprised when the hour is up - time moves so quickly when watching that show.

Zero Hour already is cancelled. They announced it Friday. Not sure if they're going to let the rest of the episodes air or not.

I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

Edit: Looks like they are pulling it immediately and replacing it with reruns of Shark Tank! :lmfao:
Possibly airing the remaining episodes in the summer.

Vikings was okay. It's obviously going to be about Ragnar vs the Earl and his own brother. I don't get why the Earl is so bent on there not being any lands to west, not sure how he couldn't know England existed.

The Americans has yet to have a sub-par episode. You can grade them against each other, but there hasn't been an episode I'd consider even below a B+ at this point.

I keep falling asleep during "Vikings" and I don't know why (Other than I'm tired).

I Gave up on "The Following."

Gave up on The Vikings after two shows. Meh.

Stuck with The Following, and it's finally beginning to pay off. Lots of internecine conflict, with Kevin Bacon at the nexus.

Different strokes, I guess.

I've actively caught up on The Following via HULU just to see how awful it is and whew....

The only problem (and why I am not going to watch further) is that it fails to even come close to being amusingly terrible. It's complete and utter lack of self-awareness is stunning. If the writers were worth a damn they'd at least be making fun of themselves at this juncture. Instead every single ridiculous moment is treated as the single most important ridiculous moment ever!!!!

The chick w/ the little boys haircut is really slutty though. So there is that.

I rather enjoyed the episode of "Legit" that I saw on FX. Dan Bakkedahl was an improv stud in Chicago, plays Jim Jeffries' friend.

Unfortunate but yeah. But I'll keep watching for a few weeks at least because, hey, it's the History Channel's first crack at it. And I appreciate the effort. But it does kind of suck.

On the other hand, it's way more entertaining g than The Following, which has no redeeming qualities. I am done with it. I thought it was a good concept. I'm not sure if I was way wrong, or if they just ruined it. But the result is the same.

Thank Dog for The Americans, which is kicking at least 6 shades of ass right now.

The Americans. I'm one episode behind, but I just caught up on one last night. This show is not slowing down. Still great.

Last night, the scene where Stan (FBI neighbor) is telling the story to the KGB agent, who's obviously scared shitless, was great. The one where he's talking about hunting and wounded birds and retriever dogs picking them up with a soft mouth. It was one of the best scenes on TV so far this year. Noah Emmerich is great.

Absolutely Riveting scene.

It's brilliant how this show has built tension despite "knowing" how everything will eventually end.

I'm still watching Vikings. It's a delightfully flawed show, but it's fun to look at and some of the actors are quite good. Despite the awful writing.

I didn't have much hope for it but Hannibal is amazing. The cinematography for the pilot made it feel like a movie. Hannibal is the villain from Casino Royale and does a very creepy, understated Lector. Show is based on the book Red Dragon and focuses more on Will Graham and his relationship with Lector before he's found out to be a cannibal.

Warning: This is the goriest show I've ever seen on network TV.

They were some of the toughest chicks to ever walk the Earth. Viking society was a tough place, and any woman who could impress them as a warrior, must have been a real ball buster.

I just want to see if they do the "Blood Eagle" to King Aele.

Mads Mikkelsen. He's a really talented actor and one I hope makes it big here.

Other than Valhalla Rising, he was also great in Pusher 1&2, Flame and Citron, and The Hunt.

I've seeing eh first 2 episodes and its outstanding. The acting is great and the characters are interesting. It would have been easy, even understandable, for Hannibal to just do his best Hopkins/Cox impression. That would hae sucked. Bt he doesn't do that. They don't even bother trying to make Mads Mikkelsen do some bullshit American accent.

I really like it so far.

With every new episode, "Bates Motel" gets better and better, if you like psychological thrillers.

Freddie Highmore is picture perfect as a young Tony Perkins, a fairly normal teenager except for his latent Oedipus complex. Vera Farmiga is absolutely terrifying as the obsessive bipolar mother Norma. Virtually every main character has deep-seated, untreated mental-health issues.

And every week brings a new plot twist. There already have been four murders in the small California coastal town, with more doubtless to come.
Now that "Justified" is off the air for a while, "Bates Motel" is proving to be a great replacement. :pop:

Two episodes into Hannibal, and I'm intrigued. Much more interesting than, say, The Americans, which I should've been into since I love Cold War shit, but just really bored me.

I challenge anyone to make it 5 episodes into Hemlock Grove. I watched all 13 fucking episodes. It's like True Blood, John from Cincinnati, Resident Evil, and Twin Peaks had a baby.... and then they gave that baby to Eli Roth to raise.

They did the TB version of werewolves. Just normal wolves, but bigger and stronger. Which I hate, I like the bipedal version, with claws and the whole deal. The characters remark how they stand 6' tall at the shoulders, but when you see them, they're just normal wolves. I guess NetFlix didn't want to spring for any complex costumes or CGI.

Pretty much every twist and turn you can see coming. There are some talented actors, but they can't do much with the script they were given.

Agreed. I actually thought it was okay overall, but really liked Loki.

If you want spoilers, you can google Ragnar Lothbrok. He was a real guy back in the day, and the show is very loosely based on his exploits.

Oh I forgot to add in The Killing, big doses of that too.

The thing is, 10 years ago, this would have been a cool concept for a show. But we have been drowned in awful emo vampire or werewolf shows.

Try it, you might like it for the unintentional comedic value. I stayed with it because like I said before, I enjoy a good train wreck.

And don't give me wolves and try and pass them off as badass werewolves. Bipedal with claws that can take a man's head off with one swing and lots of bites to the head and neck. Werewolf.

Already familiar with it, my good man. According to the legend, King Aele had Ragnar thrown into a pit of vipers. In an act of revenge, Ragnar's son Ivar the Boneless captured Aele and subjected him to the "Blood Eagle".

I figured as much.

I think that the guys in London who killed the UK soldier should get the Blood Eagle. Not like they've never tortured and killed anyone at the Tower of London before.

Just googled "Blood Eagle".. Sounds like that would sting some.

Werewolf.

I actually planned on checking it out some night when I'm st... influenced. Might be entertaining in a "bad" way then.

I watched the first 4 or 5 episodes of The Killing during the first season, determined it was one of the worst shows to ever to disgrace television, and never watched it again.

Shocked it's still on.

I gave up DURING the first episode. I figured if they couldn't muster enough interest in me for a murder mystery in the first episode, it wasn't likely to get much more engrossing.

I, also, am shocked this show still is on television.

And, judging by the reviews, I am very glad I decided to pass on Revolution.

I might have been more pissed off abut The Killing than any show I can remember. I was VERY encouraged by the pilot and first few episodes. I really thought it was going to be great, and somewhere there is a thread here about it with other nice things that people said.

And then...nothing. It didn't take long for it to get stupid and ridiculous. But I kept up through the entire first season, most.y just to see it through and find it whole killed Rosie, even if I long ago stopped giving a shit. And then the kick in the balls that was the 1st season finale...I was so pissed. No fucking way was I watching another second of that stupid fucking show.

Fuck Veena Sud.
I got this one rule. I never go out with girls who say "bitchin'".
