OSU Freshmen named in rape investigation

Unread postby e0y2e3 » Tue Mar 12, 2013 6:18 pm

Two currently on the team and apparently the recently departed Pittman.

Can't paste a link here from my phone but ABC 6 has the story.

The story is that it was a girl that was interested in Dodson and he was messing around with her when Pittman tried to get in on it too. The girl was not interested, but Pittman was persistent and used some measure of force to get her to do something (oral?). The third OSU player "involved" was Mike Thomas who (as the story goes) offered her a spare bed in his room after the fact. Word is that Thomas is not likely to be charged and is not guilty of anything except knowing Se'Von Pittman and being in the area. The police are reportedly dubious about Dodson's recounting of the events, but as of right now it sounds like the only person in big trouble is Pittman.

All of this is of course subject to change, but this is one recounting of the events. In 15 minutes it will probably be reported as a gang rape by ESPN, and it may have been. I really have no idea, just thought I would share the version of events that I had read elsewhere. Of course who knows what really happened.

And no doubt ESPN will fold all of it together with the Steubenville awfulness.

Even if it is just Pittman that ends up in trouble over this, it still reflects bad on all of these kids, if this recounting is close to accurate.

It's kind of funny how ESPN wants to blow Urban more than just about any coach in the country yet OSU fans still preemptively cry about their "coverage".

Point was more about ESPNs tendency to dramatize and sensationalize everything possible in and attempt to get more clicks, page views, and ad dollars any way possible (didn't someone refer to them as "that suck" yesterday?), but I wouldn't have expected you to pass up an opportunity to take a giant shit on an entire fan base. :thumb up:

Plus it's not like there any legit reasons to hate ESPN. Great company, dude.

ESPN fucking sucks at everything not related to live sports casts. Even then, they still partially suck as their on air talent during live broadcasts is pretty shitty. The network that put Pam Ward on the air! or who was that girl that did like 3 OSU games last year?

Their news coverage makes Foxnews or MSNBC seem well grounded and unopinionated. I have hated ESPN long before the "ESPN hates my fanbase" became popular. I wrote a piece for this site in 2007 about how bad their conflicts of interest are and they have only gotten worse.
