Dean Martin and Jimmy the Greek would be so disappointed.

I'd been reading about that the last week or so. Something is fucked up in Steubenville.

"Fucked up" and Steubenville have been synonymous for about the last 30 years. The place makes Youngstown look like Pleasantville.

I used to work in East Liverpool, about 20 minutes NE of Steubenville. Had to go down there a few times for work . . . yeah, wouldn't want to live or visit there.

Friend of mine, a salesman, STILL has to go down there once or twice a month for work. It is one of his least favorite things to do because of the people he has to deal with, and what they expect out of him.

Everyone expects a grift, a handout, a bribe, etc. It's awful. Wellsville is pretty much the same, and I was threatened with terrible things if I ever returned to that town. The local cops HATED me just because I did my job.

Just finished reading that. Wetzel is killing it again, like he did at the Sandusky trial.

What a mess down there.

Yeah, that was a good read. I like Wetzel. Yahoo has the best writers, by far. My go to online sports page.

Not going to end well for those kids or that coach, nor should it.

The best part of Yahoo having the talent they have is that Woj keeps turning down huge money from ESPN because he refuses to become a part of that suck.

Wetzel and Passan are both fantastic.

Terrible situation in Steubenville. Makes you really wonder what else has been swept under the rug or thrown in the river.

You're right, but I thnk maybe it's more drunk driving and stealing beer from the 7/11 and smoking pot type of stuff. This is a whole other level of awfulness that I'd think wouldn't be swept under the rug in most cities. And I'd like to think that so many people wouldn't have stood by and laughed while it was happening in most cities. And I'd also hope that there would be more kids at these places that would have prevented it from getting this far in the first place. Maybe I'm naive about all of that. I don't know. High school was a long time ago and my kid's only 4. Hard to tell.

And maybe I'm wrong but it also seems like this isn't the first time something like this has happened in Steubenville.

Teens will get drunk and act like assholes in every city. But there's a world of difference between drawing a penis on the drunk kids face and what happened here.

Will be interesting to see what happens with DeWine looking to dig even deeper into this situation. I know people are pissed that 16 "witnesses" refused to speak on the situation. Seems like these 16, plus the parents and coaches will be getting grilled in the next few months. What can of worms all this opens up is not going to be pretty.

Nice to see someone sending a death threat to the victim all b/c this made her convicted cousin cry. And obviously the lesson was not learned with sending something like this via social media despite the face that the oter 2 basically convicted themselves in that manner.
Galley Boys are slop on top of a so-so burger and a bun you coulde get from a Covneninet food mart generic pack. They the Antoine Joubert of burgers; soft, sloppy, oozing grease and cheap sauce and extremely overrated by a biased fan base. Proof that if you throw enough cheap sauce shit on a burger you still can't overcome the lame burger. -JB

Disagree. The lesson here is that people are stupid, arrogant, ignorant and pathetic. I think the latest news fits that perfectly. Makes perfect sense that some ignorant asshole would send the death threat via text or social media.

There's less of a trail if you hire a fucking plane to trail a banner. But Steubenville seems incapable of learning a fucking thing in all of this.

That was a great piece from Rollins.....I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that the leader of Black Flagg and the HRB had that kind of insight.......primarily because I couldn't understand the words of his songs....

Never a big fan of Black Flag or anything. Not that it's bad, just never on my radar for some reason.

But I've heard Rollins speak many times on a variety of subjects. That dude is not dumb.
