House Of Cards

Anyone else watching this? I enjoy it, 6 episodes in. I wasn't sure about having the lead character break the 4th wall several times each episode, but Spacey's lines are perfect.

I watched the whole thing. Enjoyed it. Gets a little more explosive ahead as well.

Spacey even gets better throughout it.

It was okay.

The acting was outstanding. The plot was okay. The writing was shit. All-together it resulted in something pretty meh+.

So overwrought that it ended up being good despite itself, which is quite the achievement. Nothing anyone would regret watching though.

Aside from when Spacey talks to the camera, because that's just unforgivable.

Oh and I did really enjoy watching Spacey play a spin-off of the same Character he used in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

And lastly,

I don't currently have netflix, but I'm going to have to sign up soon beacuse of Arrested Development, so this has been on the list. Glad to hear it's worth watching.

I'll be watching Episode Five today. Loving it so far. I heard some of the slower parts pay off in the last few episodes.

If you want political drama, the Sorkin era of The West Wing is on Netflix, BTW.

The first four season of that show were and still are phenomenal.

I didn't really by the entire big payoff for Spacey's character, not gonna lie. Thought it was overkill and unnecessary. I really felt no different from him after big event x than I did before it. The entire scene felt like some writer deciding "BET YOU THIS WILL REALLY SHOCK EM!!!" when we already were unshockable.

I thought it was shocking in that it was what I expected, but I didn't think it was what was going to happen.

I wrapped HoC up last night and have to say it was pretty entertaining show, a solid first season. Kevin Spacey is amazing. The cast was well put together and performed well. I loved the way it was shot.

Although I will say my biggest gripe is it's like watching a goddamn Apple commercial for 13 episodes. iPhones and Macs everywhere. And the hipster news site's office was hilarious. Black fists, pallets as tables, and beanbag chairs.

Watched Vikings last night (from Sunday) and have to say.....it's fun.

Like a GoT without the heavy storyline, and bewbs.

(There's still some redeeming stuff)

The Hipster office site made me laugh in complete derision. It was like something out of an Apple commercial (Go figure) and might have been "accurate" in 1999. All those kinds of businesses went under by 2002. At the end of the day, you have to be professional or it all falls apart.

I hate those Samsung Commercials, by the way. I want to beat every hipster d-bag in those commercials to a pulp.

Bump for season 2.

That first episode in season 2...did not see that one coming.
