Terry Francona informed RHP Justin Masterson in the dugout today that he will be the club's Opening Day starter in Toronto on April 2nd. It will be Justin’s second career Opening Day start after last season. Terry will discuss the decision on the field after the game.

I'd take issue with making Masterson the opening day starter if I thought there was a better alternative.

I'm just curious as to why Francona made the decision this early in camp. Not that it's a huge issue, but I figured he'd at least let everyone get some more work under their belt before making the decision public.
