Like I said. Those things have been discussed to the point they are no longer worth discussing.

Now we can discuss their newest disasters. Which include a series of drafts that have produced minimal successes at the big league level and have nothing within 2 years ML that there is any reason to be excited about. Maybe they shouldn't be successful at the ML level yet (especially since nobody has any 25 year olds on their big league rosters), but there should be something higher than Lake Freaking County with a ceiling of MLB All Star from the draft.

2018 or bust.

Yep, tons of teams from 2008-2011 drafts have already produced six major league players and a top ten prospect in addition to a bunch of young talent that may crack the top 100 soon.

You're right Pup, don't let those facts get in your way.

What are you even trying to say here? That the Pirates are a model franchise that we should try to emulate?

Obviously, we should have kept Neal Huntington over Chris Antonetti.

They draft well, their free agents contribute, they have made some great trades, they were aggressive at the trade deadline again this year, they have a good manager and arguably the best pitching coach in the league, and they aren't afraid to write checks, so yes, their model from the late 2000s to the present has been working. But this is biased as I am fan.

OK replace Pirates with the Nationals. Or Tigers.

Market size is NOT holding the Indians back.

Let's go a step further. Is it Larry Dolan being cheap?

The Indians are 21st in salary. The 71-43 Nationals are 20th. The 68-46 Reds are 16th, 68 wins without Votto for a big part of the year.

The 61-52 Rays spend $14m less. The 63-50 Pirates pay $15m less.

ALL PLAYOFF TEAMS if the season ended today. It's not Dolan being cheap (although he is making a nice profit).

It ALL points to talent evaluation and procurement.

The Reds resign Votto and are just $4 more, the Indians sign washed up, broken down players who should be headed to the glue factory.

Shapiro and his sock puppet must go.

And we thought the Indians' "what if?" was bad?

This one is pricelessly awful. Pure comedy gold.

If that was a picture of John Lackey with a piece of chicken in his mouth and an X-Box controller in his hand, it would be so much better.
