MLB Network Video on Roberto Clemente

Anyone see this? I was too young to appreciate the guy but when you and Lou and Lou Gehrig are the only two players for whom the 5-year waiting period for HoF induction is waived, that should speak volumes.

I think Monday/Tuesday was the 40th anniversary of Clemente's death. And the Neil Walker tie in is kind of spooky.

Thanks for the heads up. I was ten at the time, and was just kind of becoming aware of him.
I remember the 1973 baseball card with the total hits of 3000 shown on the back.

When I was very young, 3 or 4 maybe, my mom bought me a Pirate's hat because it had my initial on it. Most of my friends had a N.L. team they followed since the season always ended early for the Indians. The Pirates became mine.

I recall my uncle asking me if I had heard about a ball player being lost in a plane crash? I hadn't yet but the news soon came over the car radio.

That spring of course, the Clemente card was the one everyone sought out.
