Had to be drafted; Lerner wouldn't allow him to spend dick on free agents. Heckert was a good Soldier , and said the lack of FAs was due to a 'grand plan', but I got a feeling Heckert would have liked to bring on a few more veterans like Rucker if he was given the chance.
