Damn, that's really great play by Posey. Think Carlos makes that play? 60%.

The World Series is teaching me one thing. Clearly, the key to having a good team is finding a 350 lb. third baseman. No wonder we suck.

The Giants have remained a good value throughout, hell, you coulda found them right before last night's first pitch in the +170 range.

History has shown us that the post season isn't all that kind to baseball teams that are off a full week or so between series. The general public says, "boy the Tigers are gonna be rested and able to set their rotation." The reality is you wanna be able to stay in that rythm when things are going well.

Yep, the Tigers said that was one of the things that affected them in 2006. So, this year, they flew in the instructional league kids to play a couple of scrimmages at Comerica. Still, not actual game conditions, kid gloves on the important guys. It definitely factors in.

Maybe they could have arranged something against the Indians, instead. Oh yeah...that still would not count as actual game conditions. ;-) ;)

About a month ago when I started a thread about the Giants being the best futures bet to win the WS

swerb was going to make a $500 bet for me @ 9-1 but waited to re-check the odds

In the meantime, I used online info to get a local guy to give me 8-1 for $400

They were sneaking in under the radar since the break and every move the 'favored' Dodgers made failed to gain a game

Then they buried them

:dingle:

I got the Giants at 16:1 in March. Did hedge a little with Tigers but having been enjoying the hell out of these first two games. The last two series I was pulling hair out though.

I know it would be difficult to have manipulated it otherwise, but the WS scheduled Games 3, 4, and 5 up against College Football, Sunday Night Football, and Monday Night Football. Unless they make it to Game 6, those WS ratings are gonna take a beating.
It's only progress if you eventually get somewhere.

The series always conflicts with football

Its why I always went back to Vegas the week the Series started...games from 9 AM till midnight evrywhere you looked

Plus, you get to double down on MNF

IMO its the best weekend to go

My hubby said that Detroit had stopped the World Series due to serious damage inflicted by Hurricane Sandy-vol.

Yeah, I know, kinda corny. But we had to listen to 30-60+ MPH winds all day and it kinda got to us... ;-) ;)

Is it just me ? Am I believing the hype in that the Giants are actually a group of guys that check their egos at the door ( a la Zito getting left off roster last time and not bitching etc) and play TEAM baseball, doing whatever it takes to win? Caus I'm believing it.

F#$$%ck Detroit. F#$$%ing Jhonny has played with more life the last couple years than he ever did here. Hell, he almost looks....like a shortstop.

My 12 year old son has always loved the Giants with the Tribe. A good paradox life lesson.

When a 2 time Cy Young winner doesn't moan about being left out of the rotation, gets excited about releiving in the middle innings, then goes out and pitches shutdown baseball to get his 2nd ring then yeah, you can buy into it

I can now piss on the heads of my friends, who are Braves fans and who loved Bobby Cox, and tell them that its raining out

San Fran (reference it as San Fran on purpose when I'm there) is probably my least favorite major US city. Ballpark is a treasure, the city is absolutely gorgeous to look at, and its within a couple hours of a lot of cool shit.

But the bums. They're everywhere. And relentless. They'll follow you for 3 blocks. Which is even more annoying because of how hilly walking around downtown is. Food in the town is overrated. The cost of living is borderline insane. The politics of the city are insane. And the weather sucks. Always raining and windy, constant radical shifts in temperature ... I can deal with shitty weather, just let me know about it in advance and not at mid day.
