I take back that Bauserman comment.

But no f'ing idea on what the med staff was thinking with Miller to go from being helped off the field by teammates to leaving on a stretcher, head and neck probably immobilized, you hope.

The review was a timeout for the Buckeyes basically. Although the way that replays have been treating tOSU.... that was pretty scary.

Remember guys, tOSU is NOT a Cleveland team. They are a Columbus team and as such are subject to the normal, crippling Cleveland Jinxes

We can still agree on that. The fact they won doesn't change that in the least. But in a mulligan year it's nice to find out about guys on the roster and the coaching booth w/no pressure and no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

They still get a chance to go 9-0 next week, but this is not a great team. Did you guys see Spence and Washington destroy the left side of the pocket. Those two really deserve the credit for driving that play to the right side of the field and forcing Purdue to chuck it.

Keels and Lachey called it when they came in for that play (and yeah, no way I was listening to that horrible ABC/ESPN announce team).

Unbelieveable theater. Huge props to Kenny G for being able to function and make some huge plays....in years past, getting down late in games was a death knell, and the backup QB coming in meant you could change the channel.

Hope they can pick up some linebackers in the offseason and get Sabino healthy in a hurry, because that defense is awful.

Nit picking aside, I love this squad.

Soccer season ends tomorrow for 11 yr old, 14 yr old freshman played really well in the varsity's sectional loss to Chris Fields' Riverside team Thursday and my weekend next week will be spent in Happy Valley hopefully seeing that 9-0 happen.

But I don't have faith in Guiton being able to get that done there. Not with a week for PSU to prepare. Godspeed Braxton Miller.

People better get used to seeing Touchdown Kenny G for a bit if Miller's injury is bad as it appears.

But yes, PSU will be a serious test. Just have a wee bit of faith, it will make you less morose.

I honestly had the game written off as well.

Even though they aren't a great team, I still can't believe the state they are in vs. last year. And to be resilient and seize a game like that- man, would suck to be Purdue.

That game effectively ruined them for consideration in the division. Sucks for them to lose it like that.

Feel no shame for crushing the hope of any team that took advantage of the OSU down here.

Miller isn't much of a thrower and Guiton is worse. And he backs that up with less running ability. If the OL mans up and Hyde goes nuts they can win that game. But they're gonna have to score 30 IMO. I know McGloin is a tool that's lacking some weapons, but that OSU defense is a train wreck.

At PSU, bye, Illinois, at Wisky, Michigan. Could certainly go 1-3 on that stretch, which would leave a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Could also go 2-2 (with losses at PSU and Wisky). With this team, I don't know.

I think Guiton actually does a better job of reading his progressions. He got down to about the 4th check on a couple of those plays. He has looked good when he has come in and I think he's got a shot to play pretty well, particularly if Hyde/Smith are humming running the ball.

BN reporting that Miller is symptom free. It was some type of head/neck/shoulder injury and he is symptom free so I think we may be able to see him next week!

Watching Guiton when Miller has been hurt has made less concerned about BM's health.

Twitter reporting that Braxton Miller passed all his concussion tests and is symptom free, will be released from the hospital soon.

I'm really unsure if that's bullshit....either that was the biggest acting job i've ever seen, or the kid is hurt in some non-concussed way. No middle ground on that.

Stinger? Maybe some tingling in the arm and everyone went uber cautious?

Anyway, note to self
Always, always, always, always, and I mean always continue to DVR the game, so when you throw the remote at the dog and storm out of the house in an expletive filled tirade after a pick when you are down by 8 with less than 3 minutes left, you can always return hours later and enjoy the comeback.
I don't need to be patient, they're going to be shit forever.

Has to have been, given the way his arm was dangling and the way he was standing. Couldn't JUST be a whack to the head.

Still in shocked disbelief that he's being discharged problem free 2 hours later.

I'd hate to call it an acting job. I remember when I was a freshman ate a wrestling tournament. We landed out of bounds funny an I felt my back snap. In that instant I was sure that I was paralyzed for life. Turns out I was just being a huge gaping vagina. My back cracked. That's all. But the fear was real.

Doesn't really fit Braxton, though, because they don't usually take you to the hospital for being a pussy.

I guess my point is that even if it (hopefully) turns out to be nothing, I have no doubt that it was very real for Braxton at the time.

Beth Mowins is the worst announcer in the history of sport, EVER. ESPN was like, "Man, Pam Ward just isn't bad enough, who could we get that is worse?" I didn't think there was worse than Pam Ward, then I heard Beth Mowins.

Nah.... you went down Homer Road when Urban showed up.

I just maintained some objectivity. :hide:

Miller not a great passer and Guiton isn't either.

Not sure how that's hating anymore than saying OSU will need 30+ next week. Anyone disagree with that r that Miller makes it more likely.

And stinger of a lifetime makes sense given all those nerves that were crushed when the shoulder and head hit like that.

That's actually the best news it could have been despite the kid fearing death if that's the first bad one he ever had.

According to the game notes the Buckeyes list B. Miller as their starting QB for Saturday against PSU (and J Hall also likely to be back).

That's good news though I've not heard anything else on the injury. That tells me more and more it was a hellacious stinger.

ETA- Never mind. Link was for Purdue game but still sticking with stinger theory. And Hall didn't play vs. Purdue at all, did he? Despite being listed on the Game Notes?

Per Meyer's presser today, Braxton is not only back, but is expected to practice tomorrow.

Jordan Hall is questionable for the second straight week, thought it appears he is back.

No Sabino still.

Boren almost graded out a chamption on D.

No offensive champions.

After the reports of "whiplash-type injury" have come through, I could completely see that. He was thrown to the turf, and the neck certainly moved and snapped back. Probably freaky as hell and painful, which makes sense considering the response.
