Re: those papers that blew from the Browns sideline to the Bengals sideline last Sun?

What might that have been?

I'm going with: Shurmur's resume.

Whatever it was, it was amusing that Lewis gave it a good long look-see.

I think it was his playbook...

You guys see the Buckeye band performance of the old video games? It's worth a look on YouTube.

If they could learn and perform Tecmo Bowl routines, it might help our coach.

The ironic part is that is obviously the only 4 plays Shurrrr runs

Perhaps Shurmur is getting a head start on his life's work as a life insurance agent, and was sending Lewis an application. Lewis could have peed in a cup along with the players, after the game.

it was his coaching decision device. Basically he folds it up into what most of us call a "cootie catcher" and then counts off the yards remaining, has a coach pick a color or emotion, and that tells him the play.

That's why Childress can't call the plays - he doesn't have the scientific tools Shurmur does.

But now the Bengals have our secret play caller. The season is doomed. DOOMED.

I think you guys are underestimating SHUR here. When the paper blew over, the Browns were losing. They went on a run to win the game going away. Clearly this was an Operation Mincemeat type of "leak," where SHUR purposely gave one of the few coaches on his level the wrong gameplan, which Lewis used to make the wrong adjustments going forward.

Actually it WAS Shur's game plan, and after they lost that he had to call plays at random. Which totally threw off the Bengals.

"Wait, on third and short, they're suppose to pass."

Losing that gameplan was the key moment in the game.
What do you mean Akron isn't in the same market as Cleveland? We're close enough to be fucked by it's sports curse.

Maybe Lewis was looking at the backs of the pages by mistake, and could still see the images. So everything he saw was exactly the opposite.
