Tell me about Geno Smith....

....because the only time i've watched him play was in the opener, and I was surrounded by 25 mouth breathing WVU fans that made me want to stab him.

I know he plays in a garbage conference, but so did RGIII and Luck. I also see that he's played truly crappy teams. Anything that jumps out at you? He's listed as 6'3 and he doesn't run much.....he's also had a few consistent years at this point, so it's surprising to see him start out like this.

I'm throwing this out in case anyone has seen much of his play or has an insider read on him.....and you know why its being posted here.

I know he's been a star at the manning passing camps for a couple years now and people rave about his deep accuracy. But I've heard all that before.

When you watched RGIII play last year you knew he was a truly special prospect. That whole sprinter's speed plus the best deep ball in the country thing.

I haven't watched Geno play yet, but it shouldn't be that hard to tell if he is a freak like RGIII or just another system guy. All one has to do is watch him play.

He has gotten better & better. He is a top 10 talent. He is not close to RGIII in running it , but he can spin it.
He is smart, coachable, and a hard worker.
Translation: He will play on Sundays & yes he is better than Weeds.
IMHO
I would take him in two seconds, I would never take Barkley.

Galley Boys are slop on top of a so-so burger and a bun you coulde get from a Covneninet food mart generic pack. They the Antoine Joubert of burgers; soft, sloppy, oozing grease and cheap sauce and extremely overrated by a biased fan base. Proof that if you throw enough cheap sauce shit on a burger you still can't overcome the lame burger. -JB

Have not seen him play. But I am familiar with his coach, Dana Holgorsen, who was on the staffs of the following "system guys"
Hal Mummee
Mike Leach
Kevin Sumlin

Holgosen also coached Weeden at Oklahoma State

I've seen him 3 times this season, he can play, and he is legit with his arm. Time will tell if he benefits more from the system or if it is his ability that makes him shine. IMO it's not fair to judge him this early in the season.

I watched on Saturday. He threw with anticipation and accuracy. Plenty of mustard on the ball. But he threw to a lot of wide open dudes. I mean like 500 section at a Tribe game wide open. And the tackling was sub standard. Not much in the pressure department either.

But the Browns have wasted picks on far less talent, so I say WTF, they stink anyway.

Big 12 QB... throwing with anticipation and accuracy... plenty of mustard on the ball... wide open receivers... not much pressure...

Gee, why does that sound familiar?

Let's just hope he looks good enough at the end of the year that some stupid team trades us a bunch of picks for him.

I got my heart set on Manti Te'o, but I'm biased 'cause I'm an ND fan. That guy has got a serious nose for the football. He's everywhere.

That Bandwagon is gaining some steam. Already buzzing around my office that the kid is going to go #1 overall.....good chance a few more games like the one on Saturday (Multiple TD's and no picks, I know it wasnt a perfect showing by anyones standards) and you'll see someone bite with a mighty package.

Can't wait for an offseason of arguing about whether we should rip cord and take him or trade him for a package. It's going to be a truly epic slugfest around here.
