I laughed the whole game. Between the coaching ineptness and the complete failure of certain non-talents, I thought the game was high comedy. My wife was staring at me like I was crazy when I fell over laughing on one of the Bill's big scoring plays.

Only really against the Steelers and Ravens he looks bad, and lets say both of those teams are on their way to the playoffs.

Now, you can attribute that to whatever. Shurmer going conservative, dropped passes that would have gone for TD's, but Weeden hasn't looked terrible outside of the aforementioned Steeler and Ravens games, and that diaster in week 1.

Shurmer's gone, you have a new coach.

The Browns have the first overall pick in the draft, or one in the top 3. What do you do?

If there's a QB that's a fantastic talent, that will be a clear upgrade over Weeden, then you do that. Right now, I don't know who that guy is, but he might emerge. Sure as hell ain't Barkley.

Otherwise you take the best pass rusher/corner/defensive playmaker.

That's pretty much it for guys with 1st round grades. To me it'd take WVU winning the Big XII in dramatic fashion or Logan Thomas looking like Cam Newton part 2 to really bump their names up.

As it stands are any of those guys any better than Weeden?

I'm not rushing to judgment on Weeden. He's still learning what it takes to play QB in the NFL. The West Coast offense is predicated on the QB making the right reads at the line of scrimmage, and his grade so far is barely passing. It also didn't help today that he was playing from behind the whole game and was trying to force the ball into places it didn't fit. Let's grade him at the end of the season.

I'm not rushing to judgment on Shurmur, either. The hope was that he would learn from his 2011 miscalculations and become a better head coach this season. Hasn't happened. With all the experience his assistant coaches have, you'd think that the results would be better. Hasn't happened--the team's performance out of the chute today was pitiful and inexcusable. By the time Haslem is officially the new owner, we're going to know for certain whether Paddy O is staying or going. And it'll probably be the latter, based on what almost surely will be 11 straight losses by that time.
