And they should have gone for the TD at the end. With 24 seconds left, you only have 3 or 4 plays left. Its much easier to score a TD from close up on 4th and 5, and then kick a 50 yarder then it is to kick the field goal from short range, then drive to the end zone from midfield in just 3 plays with no timeouts.

I agree and disagree. It is easier to score the TD from close. But if you come up empty, game over.
I was wondering if they didn't hurt themselves by not spiking the ball to stop the clock a time or two during the last drive. A decent amount of clock ran out, and you can get reorganized as an offense with a huddle or two (especially with rookies being the key part of your offense).

Skrine and Patterson... ugh. The next 3 weeks are gonna be painful on defense.
Richardson damn impressive. Weeden was solid, but nothing spectacular. But after last week's performance, just being solid is a big step. Not expecting All Pro play from him in the next 3 or 4 (or the rest of the season), and he'll certainly have worse games than this, but going from a 5.1 to a 114.9... 110 points has to be the biggest jump in passer rating ever (more a testament to how bad he was last week than to how good he was this week).
Someone needs to turn that punt return TD into a GIF, there were bodies flailing all over the place. Hilarious.
I know some of you will lose your shit on this, but I'll take 12 more losses just like that one.
Losses like this don't bother me at all since it shows progress at important positions and which positions they still need to obtain (2nd CB, Pass Rusher, Guard, FB, LB) and close losses like this keep them valid while paying off on draft day to help the new Coach out.
Since they ain't goin' anywhere near the playoffs and 7 wins does no more for you than 4...

Awesome.
That means every drive staring from the 12 when he starts 8 yards deep and brings it out.
He's freaking done.
Punt gunner and Kick Coverage. That's it.
I thought he'd be cut this season and I see no reason to think he deserves the spot he was given. Put a threat back there who will kneel 8 yards deep or has a chance to get you more then 20.
Cribbs ought to be thankful Owen Marecic is even more useless and that Marecic isn't a local hero.

My dad and I were wondering why when the Bengal's returner brought it out of the endzone, he was routinely hit shortly after he crossed the 22...and when Cribbs brought it out of the endzone he was routinely hit around the 15.
We decided that the entire Bengals kickoff coverage unit must be much faster than the entire Browns unit. Because Cribbs is awesome.
It's the only thing that makes sense.
