Week 1: Browns vs Eagles

Unread postby motherscratcher » Sun Sep 09, 2012 11:38 am

Well, we have about 1 1/2 hours of whatever optimism we can muster before cold cruel reality inevitably sets in.

Who knows, maybe this is one of those seasons like 2007 where reality never does set in (at least until Derek Anderson plays the Bengals). Bullshit smoke and mirrors or not, I'll take another few months like that. Those were good times.

Go Browns.

I just turned on the TV. It was still on ESPN from last night. They are talking about the Jet's backup QB.

Go Browns.

Off the cuff? 31-13 Eagles.

This won't be one of the 2-4 wins.

I don't know why the various fantasy sites don't code Tebow as QB/RB.

I will admit that this is the least excited I've ever been for an opener since 1996.

Why? This is the first time in a while that we actually have a few players who may turn out to be actual NFL players.

I hope that if only one highlight of the Browns makes it to SportsCenter tonight it's not Weeden getting caught under the flag.

I actually like the offensive playcalls, but the execution was pretty poor on those two plays.

Still, we looked like an NFL team for a minute there. Progress.

"Usual" in Cleveland is excessive in any other city.

INT! INT! INT!

Now lets get another FG.

Wait. Wait.

There's something NFL teams can do to get more than 3. I forget what they're called, but lets to that.

The D is getting to Vick. And they're hitting him. Good signs early. That's already 2 times that the Philly OL's been called for holding.
