Browns Season Long Squares, Part II

Unread postby pup » Thu Aug 23, 2012 1:03 pm

Hey all. For anyone that is interested, a friend is doing the Browns squares for all 16 games this year. It is a fundraiser for a friend of his, I will let you read the story about the situation below. It will run exactly like mine did last year. I am not sure how many squares are left, but if you post in this thread he will certainly see it and/or I will pass it along.

I'm reaching out to you to let you know about an opportunity to lend support to a family going through a very difficult time and for a way to make the Browns games interesting.

A great friend, Mike O'Boyle (a Bowling Green Alumni) has a son MJ that was diagnosed in February of this year with a rare genetic disease called Krabbe disease. MJ has been a patient at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh since his diagnosis. For those of you who may not know, Krabbe disease is a degenerative condition of the central and peripheral nervous system which progresses very rapidly and is ultimately terminal in nature. This horrible disease is however preventable and treatable, but only if detected early. MJ has recently received a breakthrough medical treatment consisting of bone marrow transplant/stem cell replacement therapy (BMT/SCT). After extensive chemotherapy and an infusion of cord blood stem cells, he is beginning to turn the corner and show signs of improvement.  I can share with you the wonderful news that MJ was able to return home  last weekend. No true Browns fan should have to spend football season in Pittsburgh!

So in an effort to 1) celebrate MJs return home, 2) raise money to help with both medical expenses as well as MJ's ongoing care, and 3) raise awareness about infant testing for Krabbe disease, a benefit was held in his honor.  Amanda and I were overwhelmed by the show of support the O'Boyle family received at this benefit. Therefore we're trying to keep the fundraising going with Browns sqaures for all 16 games in 2012.

Cost: $50 for the entire season.

How does it work: You choose a square on our board. You have the same square for all 16 games. The numbers assigned to your square will change for each game.  Numbers for all games will be randomly drawn prior to the Browns home opener against the Eagles. Winners are determined by using the 2nd digit of the score for each team at the end of the quarter. Quarters 1 thru 3 will pay out $50 and FINAL score will pay $100. Final score means 4th quarter will not pay out in OT games. We'll be able to contribute $1000 to MJ's care after the payouts are complete!

How do you sign up: Email, call, text, Facebook me and tell me how many squares you want. You can also tell me the location of the square or we'll randomly assign you one. Send in your money and get ready for the season.

Deadline: All money must be received by September 7th.

Thanks for taking the time to read this from me. Let's continue to pray for MJ and root for the Browns this season.

Please feel free to forward this to your friends and family.

Thanks again -
Bill

We are down to 18 squares left. This is a great cause and a fun way to watch those December games.
Thanks

So do you want 1 or 2?
Doesn't it need to be run from Youngstown to qualify for RICO? Or the Cuyahoga County Administration Building?
