Nothing earth shattering, although (mercifully) the Carlton Mitchell experiment has ended.

For the lazy-ass CDT:

Player Pos.
Jake Anderson OL
Matt Cleveland OL
Emanuel Davis DB
JoJo Dickson LB
Spencer Lanning P
Carlton Mitchell WR
Bert Reed WR
Jermaine Saffold WR
Owen Spencer WR
The roster is currently at 80 players.

I've only ever heard of Mitchell.

On the rare occasion I need to print something and can't wait to do it at work I use the shit out of Fedex Kinko's.... dumbfucks.

And back in 2007 when we were setting up the office we opened up here we got to know Fedex Kinko's very well.

And when you get packages at work they typically read "Fed Ex Kinkos."

An all-in-one fax-copy-print-scan is like $60. Hell, most computer manufacturers will throw it in for free just so you buy the ink later on. I know my kids do a shit ton of faxing which pays for the machine (sarcasm), but even for you, how is that not a good investment?

Guess for the Friday cuts: the reason that GB hasn't made an offer for Colt is that they know the Browns will have to cut one of them and are fine taking whichever one they cut sine Colt/Wallace are pretty much interchangeable. So lucky you, Seneca, you'll be a Packer by Sunday.

I'd much rather give up a late round pick or a conditional pick and get the guy I wanted. The one who's younger, cheaper, higher "upside"...etc. If it truly doesn't matter which of them you get then you're better off with neither.

Though I would take the guy who's not a raging, anti-social, non-mentoring, entitled douchebag.

And Colt is social even if his old man isn't.

As if you don't look in the dictionary under "entitled douchebag" and see a picture of passive-aggressive, whiny Colt McCoy. Not sure why the populace thinks Colt is such a "good kid", must be that he's so cute and cuddly.

And... upside? Colt? Where? Guy's got one of the lowest ceilings of any QB in the league.

I would agree that Colt's probably the better option, but it's not by that much, and if either Colt or Seneca have to see the field for any extended action then this season is useless anyway.

Colt puts more effort into faking being genuine. Shows initiative. ;-) ;)

He has more 'upside' than Wallace who will never be a mentor or a starter. Colt could one day be the former once he gets pasts his visions of grandeur.

And he's $2million cheaper at this point. Let us not forget that point. Which may be the only one distinguishing the two.

Not to mention the incentive of having him gone from here so he's someone else's cute and cuddly issue to deal with.

Surprised at the Wallace cut. In Colt's showcase game last night, he pretty much stunk up the place. I thought Wallace brought more to the table than McCoy. Oh well.

Young over Sims is another head scratcher.

I will be shocked if any team picks up Wallace, even Green Bay.

In my sales days, when salesmen vanished & I asked about them, I was told:
"You can not-produce (like me) or not-have-a-good-attitude, but you can't do both"
Wallace does both.

I still find it hard to believe that no team offered a deal for McCoy since cut or not, he was available.
(And no, I don't think he has any business being the Browns' starter.)

2 for 5 is hardly a sample size worth using for the backup QB decision. This seems like the right move, but I wouldn't have been too worked up either way. Wallace was probably our backup if anyone offered a 5th this week for McCoy.

PD says they aren't ging after Feely FWIW.

I don't. QB's of his ilk are a dime a dozen. It's not like he's a project with potential/upside.

Gotta say that I'm a little disappointed that they didn't cut Colt.

I wanted to see the meltdown. And I also wanted him to go away (and take Mary Kay with him like LeBron took Windhorst).

Surprised they cut Sims. He seemed to have a nose for the ball, and might be difficult to sneak through to the PS. Not a huge issue by any means, but still a little surprising.

I truly don't understand how Owen Marecic makes this roster before Smelley.

Marecic is a mediocre football player who plays stiffly and does nothing well.

Nothing.

(And no, I don't think he has any business being the Browns' starter.)

I don't. QB's of his ilk are a dime a dozen. It's not like he's a project with potential/upside.

Buffalo gave up a late-round draft pick for Tarvaris Jackson. Think Colt McCoy is better than him?

I agree wholeheartedly about Marecic.

Smelley, though, couldn't block for shit either.

There's gotta be someone out there that's competent.

For quick reference:

The following 22 roster moves were made as the Cleveland Browns got down to the mandatory 53-player limit:

Waived (18)
Dominic Alford OL
Ronnie Cameron DL
Josh Cooper WR
Stanley Daniels OL
James Dockery DB
Garth Gerhart OL
William Green DL
Dan Gronkowski TE
Benjamin Jacobs LB
Ernest Owusu DL
Brian Schaefering DL
Jarrod Shaw OL
Jeff Shugarts OL
Brad Smelley FB
Quinton Spears LB
Adonis Thomas RB
Kiante Tripp DL
Rod Windsor WR

Contract Terminated (2)
Evan Moore TE
Seneca Wallace QB

Smelley is my only major WTF.

Yep.

Even more perplexing is why did we let Vickers go? Was he too good a blocker...too physical?....actually seemed to enjoy playing here?...show too much enthusiasm?.........actually was never intimidated by Steeler Linebackers and put his helmut on them?

He kept snapping wet towels at everybody in the postgame shower.

I've been reading a lot "frustration" from certain fans -- and even a columnist on this site -- about keeping Colt McCoy because he could be a "distraction" if Weeden gets off to a slow start and the McCoy defenders start chanting his name at the games.

My response: Who gives a fuck? *

One hallmark of the Lerner organization is it always made quick decisions that usually were the wrong ones. Any organization that listens to the fans to that degree is an organization that is headed for failure.

I'm hoping the new Haslem organization fixes this.

Besides, with this O-line, we'll probably be on our fifth QB by Week 10.

*Not a defense or endorsement of McCoy, and it's FUCKING STUPID I even need to point that out.
