Nov 2012: The Cleveland Indians have announced today that they have re signed their once promising slugger Travis Hafner to a new two year contract. Even though there were no other teams interested in the oft injured good guy outside of an invite to spring training the Indians signed Hafner to a $7 million gaurantee with incentives that would take him to $13 million.

Mark Shapiro followed up with noting how this type of contract has worked well for them in the past. Because of giving $5 million to Grady Sizemore last year to show up to spring training they were able to get him for the reduced cost this year of only $2.5 million.

Shapiro then noted that a September record of 8200 showed up for Hafner bobble head night.
