Indians Designate Johnny Damon For Assignment
By Ben Nicholson-Smith [August 3 at 2:30pm CST]
The Indians announced that they designated Johnny Damon for assignment. The move creates 25-man roster space for outfielder Ezequiel Carrera, who has been recalled from Triple-A Columbus.
Kotchman can't be too far behind.

I have no idea why Carrera was called up instead of Federoff.

Federoff has been amazing down here too.

Clearly I'm saddened by this.
Now I have to get to work on my next avatar.

Huh. In baseball-speak, how many "tools" did Johnny have at this point in his career? Zero?

Can his arm be bad enough to take him to a negative?

Why would you want o get rid of Shelley now? He's got a lot of HR and RBI to go to reach 35/100. You want o drop him righ before his real production kicks in?! Glad you're not in charge.
I got this one rule. I never go out with girls who say "bitchin'".

Yeah, a little surprised it's not Fedroff.
Maybe the fact that he's a lefty and Carrera can switch is the deal breaker. Also, to be fair to Zeke, he's been tearing the cover off the ball lately too.
EDIT: Carrera's a lefty too, don't know what I was thinking.

Not a huge fan of my new one. I'll have to think up some new ideas.

Does Zeke have a better arm? Can his throw make it to the cutoff man?

Wait, does Zeke even know what a cut-off man is?
Well this shows what they think of Fedroff.

Give some credit to Antonetti.... he flew out to Detroit to tell Damon face-to-face about the DFA.
Damon stunk without doubt, but he was a solid person in the clubhouse and he obviously still carries some respect around the ball club.

That Cleveland uniform was just too much to overcome. Watch Johnny latch on somewhere next year and hit .300.

Ha ha.
Why didn't we try to get something for him at the trade deadline?
Ha ha!
Maybe a couple of bats, a few balls and a bag of sunflower seeds?
