Yeah, I know, but we're not going to go get one of those. We're going to hope Masterson transforms back into 2011 Masterson.

It's a start. They need to cut their losses with the rest of the "veteran presence" and dump Damon, Kotchman, and Duncan, too. What's the point in keeping them around now? They can't even do the shaving cream pie gag because we don't f'ing win.
We may as well call up some of the AAA guys and figure out once and for all if they are indeed AAAA guys. I wouldn't mind seeing Fedroff (guy is on a mad tear and isn't THAT old at 25), Canzler, and Goedert. Reward them for their hard work and show the rest of the system you aren't necessarily doomed to rot away in the minors forever. Who knows, maybe they even bring a little enthusiasm with them. It would also clear up a little bit of the logjam going on in Columbus and Akron, too. Bonus.
Absolutely none of these guys looks to be an impact guy, but if even one of them becomes a late-bloomer who's finally getting a chance (like our favorite grinder, Casey Blake), well hell, that's probably better than whatever scrap heap relic we'll sign to an incentive-laded contract this off-season.
Might as well see what these guys can do and at least solve some bench questions for next year. It's not like they're taking at-bats away from anybody relevant.

Because I seriously don't believe he'll ever get it - at least not while a member of the Tribe.

One last AAAA player should come up: LaPorta. Last chance to see, then drop him like a hot rock.Return to Cleveland Indians & MLB
