I'm on vacation in Hilton Head. (My big mean German Shepherd mix stayed behind in case any of you smartasses gets any ideas).

So far, unanticipated costs are expensive Persol sunglasses lost due to a rogue wave. And a glass top for an iPad 2 cracked due to a rogue 3 year old.

Just got back from there last week. Wanna have some fun there? Try to find a kid with a normal name like Joe or Steve. You'll be up to you ass in "Blazes" and "Camerons"

Go back across the Bridge a few miles to Jim and Nicks BBQ. Fantastic.

Don't go see the Hilton Head knock-off of this guy - who is Shannon Tanner at Shelter Cove. That guy will make you wish you didn't make it out of the ocean.

LOL - we just saw that guy, or rather heard him while we were eating. We went there to eat and see fireworks. The food was OK, the fireworks lasted all of 5 minutes (very underwhelming), and the guy singing was, well, not impressive.

It wasn't just the sunglasses either. I got saltwater in my eyes. And that kind of burned for a few seconds too. It was awful. Just awful.

^^^ Have gone with the Nike shorts with undies combo. ever since like, junior high.

Way more comfortable, and if that's what you were wearing that day to begin with; don't even have to change (I'm a lazy bastard). And, chances are, you've got a much bigger selection of athletic shorts than swim trunks so there's more to choose from.

I gotta go commando in dark trunks and I cut out the nut net. I try to stick with thicker material to reduce the helmet outline. Just doesn't feel right, being free in the water with the boys shackled down in Davy Jones' Locker.

Thanks for giving me a new term- nut net. Never put a name with that piece of matter. Just thought it was nameless like that small crease at the tip of your nose.

Got to Hilton Head Saturday afternoon and by Sat night got to visit the Hilton Head Hospital ER as we were unloading the last bit, a plastic bag split open, smashed on the pavement and then sliced the wife's foot, and she had crocs on. She's all good now. Went to the Skull Creek Boathouse on a couple recomendations, good food, better setting, good experience.

Did not know of the pro-OSU sentiment here, there is more Buckeye paraphanalia here than any other college. A pamphlet in our welcome package had the Buckeye Bar and the Browns Backers bar in it, a little touch of home here.

Hilton Head is a huge destination for Ohio folks. You get people from all over, but Ohio always seems to dominate everyone else. Probably the reason for the OSU gear.
