No game thread yesterday and no-one starting one so far today.

Well, we're through 1 inning scoreless.

Masterson on the hill, can't be bothered posting the lineups!

Apathy's setting in quickly around these parts. Unless someone has to post about the Dolans. Then everyone piles on. But other than that, no one gives a shit anymore.

Big fan of this game being on pace to end around 9:10.

Did anyone see the stop sign?

That might be on the 3rd base coach.

Not related to today's game but I got an unmarked envelope in the mail today and inside it was a letter from Miller Lite and two tickets (bleacher seats) for the 8/12 game vs. Boston, just wondered if anyone else ever won something similar and if the tickets are legit, I'm thinking they probably are because they are blah seats but I don't want to go up there and they aren't good and then I actually have to pay to see this team haha. I don't recall entering any contest that's why it's kinda weird.

I know it's unfair because Cunningham doesn't get consistent ABs, but he does put together some decent plate appearances. He just rarely, if ever, hits the ball hard somewhere.

So Detroit will come into town with a 4 game lead.

This next series is make up break, can't afford to lose it and, if we get swept, then we're tearing this thing down!

I'll take 2 out of 3 if you offered it to me right now!

Uh-yup. Swept or just one win and they start selling? I'm afraid so.

They must have sent it to the wrong guy. Erie Warrior is the one with the Miller logo in his signature...

I've noticed that the esteemed Sheldon Ocker, at times, seems to fall asleep during games. Here was his take on the eighth inning rundown:

"With one out in the eighth, Markakis singled and Chavez followed with a double to left. As runners habitually do when Johnny Damon is on the fielding end of a base hit, Markakis kept on running. But he suddenly stopped between third base and the plate, and he was tagged out in a rundown.

Opposing runners usually don’t wait to be waved home when balls are hit to Damon, because they have little respect for his arm. If another outfielder had been in left, Markakis would have stopped at third. As it was, he might have been safe if he hadn’t abruptly stopped when third-base coach DeMarlo Hale threw up his hands late."

I wonder if Ocker realized that Cunningham had replaced Damon in the top of the inning. Hence, everything Ocker said makes no sense.

Considering 2 of 3 would mean we beat either Fister, Verlander, or both, yeah, I'd take 2 of 3 too.

Detroit has won five in a row and 8 of 10. Masterson misses this series but Verlander is pitching. Sad to say but it looks like the season ends here.

Could be our last look at Choo and/or Perez in a Tribe uniform but I hope not.
