7/18 Tribe at Rays

Unread postby googleeph2 » Wed Jul 18, 2012 6:37 pm

Rays have had Masterson's #. But the Tribe beat Hellickson just recently.

It says here Bat is gonna get some run support tonite.
Cabrera and Hafner will hit, spreading optimism throughout Tribe land again.

Choo RF, Cabrera SS, Kipnis 2B, Brantley CF, Santana C, Hafner DH, Damon LF, Kotchman 1B, Hannahan 3B, (Masterson RHP)

Rays

Lefties are hitting 24 points lower off Hellickson than righties. Take away his changeup.

I think Hellickson's lost his last 6 decisions..... I'm not sure that's a good thing.

He's too good a pitcher for that streak to go on much longer.

Whew only 30 pitches. Hopefully that was the Rays' chance.

They don't hit much. They might be thinking that.

It's bad when the infield's back and I still don't trust Santana to drive him in.

Holy f---. What a disgrace Hafner and Santana have become. How can Antonetti sit there and justify this piece of shit team he has put together? We have nobody in AAA ball to replace these rags. Fucking giving us a run and those two have two more shitty ABs.

Freaking make some changes!!!!!!!

OOO, such a decision! How about murderer - who ends up with the death sentence? Win/win!

In other (bad) news, both Deetroit (5-1 in the bottom of the 2nd) and CHI (1-0 bottom of the 1st) are winning. Great.....

Any thought on the Trivia "Last guy to win Batting Title as a player/manager?"

Nap Lajoie?

Frank Robinson was after Nap, but I can't believe he won a batting title.

Pete Rose?

Probably Lajoie. Boudreau was a player/manager in '48, no?

Maybe Tris Speaker...he was after Nap and could really hit.

Or Mel Ott? Pretty sure he was a play/mng.

Yup. Indians have had a long tradition of doing this. Starting with Nap, then Tris, Lou, Frank. I think that's everybody.

Solid AB from Cabrera. 10 hits in the last 2 months and he swings at the first pitch just after we fell behind by 4.

Ouch, I went against my better judgement and started Masterson......but I have Rodgers slotted in a RP slot so at least that will take away some of the sting.
