We win and CHI loses...but Detroit wins. Making some headway - or treading water. Take your pick.

This might have been the toughest game to watch all season.

There are some guys in this lineup that just absolutely freeze up with guys on base.

I am at the end of my rope with Santana. The dude just does not have what it takes from the shoulders up to be a average to better-than-average hitter in the majors. Still trying to figure out why in the hell Marson doesn't get more PT.

On the other hand, Michael Brantley is quietly becoming this team's most dependable stick in the lineup. He hits from the leadoff, the 4-hole, with guys on, with no one on, etc. Fun to watch his approach each and every time.

Also, gritty performance by Zach McAllister tonight. Nice to see him get a win after the bullpen/Cabrera gacked it up for him last Sunday.

It's astonishing that Kotchman, Duncan, Damon, Marson, and Hafner all have lower batting averages with RISP than Aaron Cunningham, and Cunningham is hitting .208 with RISP!!!

Despite the unbelievable lack of clutch hitting we're still only three games out of first place.

Can't say enough about Kipnis hitting .379 with RISP. The least experienced player on the team leading the way.

Great job by McAlister to struggle through six innings without his best stuff. Fortunately he was up against the Rays, who are 9th in runs scored. I got the impression that the extra days off for the AS break negatively affected both Ubaldo and Zach. They both had major control issues in their first starts of the second half.

Yeah, it's frustrating watching Santana swing the bat. No home runs in two months and you rarely even see a hard hit ball anymore. Maybe dropping him down in the batting order will help, but I doubt it.

Tomlin pitched a gem his last time out and he goes tonight against a weak hitting team. I'd really like to see a quality start to show his last outing wasn't a fluke and he's getting back on track. The Rays have a lefty going so the runs will be hard to come by. Tomlin needs to shut them down and somebody (Duncan? Lopez?) needs to have a big game.

I thought he was coming around a couple weeks ago after some shots to the warning track? Or so you said ::doh::

Wake me up the first time he makes an adjustment mid at bat
Galley Boys are slop on top of a so-so burger and a bun you coulde get from a Covneninet food mart generic pack. They the Antoine Joubert of burgers; soft, sloppy, oozing grease and cheap sauce and extremely overrated by a biased fan base. Proof that if you throw enough cheap sauce shit on a burger you still can't overcome the lame burger. -JB

Guess not.

But it looks like he may be trying to wait longer and hit up the middle. He singled to left field last night. And the game before that he laid down a bunt single against the shift.

At this point if he gets a single and a walk I'll take it every time.
