Somehow I just can't see Lowe surviving long against this lineup. He's going to be nibbling at the bottom edge of the zone all day, or at least as long as he lasts.

Trout leads off the game with a single. Lowe with a 7.88 ERA in the 1st inning. He really needs to get it going early.

Lowe gets the DP and is out of the first inning in 8 pitches. Just what he needed on a hot day.

Looking at his game log, Erwin Santana has either been very good or very bad his last ten starts.

Welcome back, Pronk.

Droobs makes an out on the first pitch. That's 10 straight at-bats without a hit. It looks to me like he's swinging at anything close, frequently making an out on the first or second pitch. He needs to be more selective, IMO.

Like Brantley. Nice time for his second HR of the year. Tribe up 3-0. They're going to need more, though.

Aggressive play by Kip to go to 2nd..... if AC gets to the bag as opposed to dragging the back foot, then they might get Trumbo at 2nd.

AC got greedy trying to turn two.

Nice job by Lowe to get out of that only giving up the 1 run.

Bad decision by Kipnis. Trumbo was off with the pitch and the ball was hit slowly, so Kip should have taken the sure out at first. It was still a bang-bang play so I can't fault him too much.

Great job to strike out Aybar, then get a ground ball.

Great play by Hanny to get out of it!

One very good sign is that every Angels hitter except Trumbo has hit a ground ball. That's 8 of 9 so far.

I didn't realize Lou Marson has a .390 OBP this year. It's higher now because he just got another hit. This guy has to play more.

Two on, nobody out, and the top of the order up. Love it.

Droobs still hacking at everything he sees, but at least he put the ball in play and got the run in. Even Manning called him out, said he needs to be more patient with RISP.

Kip comes through again. He's on pace for 100 RBI if he gets another one this game. Considering he's been batting in the 2-hole much of the season, that's pretty impressive. Oh, and he's second in the league in stolen bases. He should have got the All-Star nod over Kinsler.

After turning down a trade to the Dodgers, it appears Carlos Lee might have another decision to make! The Marlins are in talks to acquire him.

Are you kidding me? Kotchman with a jack against a left-handed pitcher? Didn't see that coming.

OK, Lowe, just keep inducing those ground balls.

Damon with a slow-pitch softball strike from LF to get the fleet of foot Pujols at 2nd.

Lee goes to Marlins. First domino has fallen.

Quentin has really cooled after his hot start.

I'd like to see Donald in LF for a week or so. Let's see what we go there.

No-one better at the oppo swing than Marson.

If the guy could learn to turn on a pitch on the inner half, we might have something!

When was the last time we had a game like this?!

A blowout where we keep adding on??

One more inning for Lowe and then Accardo for the 3-inning save?

Apparently the City of Cleveland is going to rename Eagle Avenue, "Larry Doby Way" on Friday - the 65th anniversary of Doby breaking the color barrier in the AL.

Way to come back after being dominated by Weaver in the opener. Now it's four games against the Rays. One good thing - we'll miss David Price, who pitched today.

Nice job by the offense to come back and take two out of three in the series.

Erie..... you notice we won all 3 games you started the thread for in Baltimore and both in this series?! You'd better be around tomorrow - post-4th of July hangover not an excuse to not start the thread!
