80% FT!!!! Has a decent post game and hit 50% on jumpers on a limited sample size, but the FT% indicates he should have a decent touch. Can run the court and finish in transition. IMO great trade. Also had the best rebounds per 40 of the centers in DE's top 100. The alternative was feh...

Nah. He won't knock your socks off, but he's solid. Runs the floor, decent defender, nice scoring touch around the basket, solid shooter. Kind of reminds me of Ilgauskas without the feet falling apart. At worst, he's a good backup C. I think he'll be a solid starter.

I always liked Zeller, and wanted him at 10 if Rivers would have been off the board.

Won't be a hall of gamer, but should have a long, consistent career. Good post game, can score with either hand, best running big in the draft. Gonna be a long-time starter, which is probably more than you were gonna say about whoever you picked at 24.

Grant traded Mo Williams for what should have been the #8 pick. He does get points for the pick being unprotected (though that's mostly due to the LAC GM being stupid). He does not get points for lucking into the 1st pick.

Zeller isn't a guy you build a franchise around, but he is a useful player and he is doubly useful for this team with TT's black-hole at the 4 and when factoring in the sever lack of offensively skilled centers in existence.

The consensus is that two years in a row our GM has done his due-diligence and worked out the top 8 prospects. Sat for a week, freaked out and called people in for last minute workouts the day before the draft (TT/Ross/Waiters). Fell in love with one of those last second workouts and reached for them. Said no to this years workout and instead took the guy they didn't even workout.

The consensus is he reached on TT and is married to him now so he passed on T-Rob stupidly. I won't fault him for not liking Barnes, they got a good look at him and have been obsessively watching him for two years, but he still would have been a better pick than a guy who has done NOTHING SINCE MARCH TO RAISE HIS STOCK OUTSIDE OF NOT WORKING OUT FOR A SINGLE NBA TEAM AND GETTING A GUARANTEE AT #19 OF THIS DRAFT.

Although the real kicker is that according to everyone they went into the final draft evaluation process in-love with Barnes and dumped him due to nothing more than a workout TO DRAFT SOMEONE THEY NEVER WORKED OUT OR SPOKE WITH.

The NBA draft ruled were not made when drafts were prime time event s. Hence dumb trade rules.

The Cavs worked out Barnes and didn't take him. They didn't work out Waiters but took him anyway. Wonder how that Barnes workout went. Wasn't there a report that Beal kicked his ass?

When are we going to get confirmation on that Zeller deal? Not that it matters - no way the Cavs draft Cunningham if they didn't have the deal for Zeller in place.

Acquiring Zeller allows them to move Andy back to his natural PF position. If the starting lineup is Kyrie, Waiters, Gee, Andy and Z2, at least they'll be able to get up and down the floor. We might start seeing more elements of the rumored Princeton offense with mobility at all five positions.

My two cents - they plan on losing big this year again, getting another high pick (or two...depending on how they sort it out) and filling the holes at #3 and #2.

They seem to have the rotation of 3 bigs, a 6th man, and a legit #1 star. Still need more HQ pieces.

So another tank year is in order.
