But it appears they're zoning in on positions rather than BPA. Drummond, for all the deserved hate, is inarguably a better prospect than both Ross and Waiters. But you don't hear his name being bandied about.

They want a scorer at the 2 or 3. Otherwise none of these rumors make sense. Like I said this FO is fucking weird.

I can't imagine them going at #4 with a guy they couldn't work out at the last minute, and not with MKG or Beal or maybe even TRob on the board. Grant likes his prospects, but only if the obvious choices are gone. Think Hickson after they lost out on Hibbert. And this isn't last year where it was Kyrie and then a giant pile of meh, not with what we're hearing about Beal and MKG.

Its either Waiters at 4 if they can't get the guys they want, or they're working something to move up from 24.

Drummond the prospect is something you can't take with TT though, same as T-Rob.

IMO, it is more so protecting their top five pick from last year than it is zeroing in on positions (at least it appeared that way up until the last two days where every late lottery SG is now linked to them at 4.

You guys seem to agree that TT is too clumsy around the hoop and will never develop an offensive game.

I got 3 guys in my ear - who have lots of legitimate opinions - who note he can rebound and block shots. They say Thompson is only 20 and he can develop a 15 foot jump shot and a post move or two. He'll be a double double guy in the league.

His rebounding rates are solid (he also played on one of the worst shooting teams in the league, which really inflates this), his block numbers pretty pedestrian (he has legit potential as a weakside shot blocker though) and his one on one defensive presence is nill (this needs to improve, period).

The guy can be useful down the line, but his very best offensive ceiling is Andy.

There's an argument that Kidd-Gilchrist is the "safe" pick, but he's a legit top-3 pick and was formerly Irving's running mate.

Well you have to value an elite SG prospect more than what MKG is bringing to the table, and you would have to consider Barnes as not being an elite SG prospect.

I think Beal is that much better than Barnes. And I just dont feel that bottom third draft picks are very valuable, not for a team that drafts as well as the Cavs do anyways.

I like MKG, a lot. I dont give a shit that he was a former teamate of Irvings, but MKG would be a great pick. I just like Beal better, and I dont see anyone at #24 that would be worth not getting the guy I liked best in this draft. Who is also at a position of need (the Cavs have 4 of those, its not like there is one hole to fill)

I like Beal, his season last year is such a huge concern to me. He didn't have a whole lot "elite" about his game last year. I would take him at 4, just not sure I trade up to get him. Would be pissed if neither Beal or MKG is available at 4.

Trade Andy for #12. You can likely get TRoss at 12. MKG and TRoss, and then a back up big at 24. I'm in.

I've been a Zeller guy for months now. Kid runs the floor and can shoot it. Good rebounder, doesn't block shots but he's long enough to alter them.
