I may as well start the thread since it's a guaranteed loss today (soft-tossin' lefty...).

YOUR Cleveland Indians (37-32)

Choo RF
Cabrera SS
Kipnis 2B
Lopez 1B
Brantley CF
Santana CDamon LF
Hannahan 3B
Gomez P

Pitching: Jeanmar Gomez (4-6, 4.95ERA and, hopefully, pitching for his job)

The Enemy

Altuve 2B
Lowrie SS
Lee 1B
Bogusevic RF
Johnson 3B
Castro C
Martinez LF
Schafer CF
Keuchel P

Pitching: Dallas Keuchel (0-0, 1,80ERA and a soft-tossing lefty

Showing phenomenal plate discipline, our first and second batter looked at a total of three frackin' pitches. Jerks...

Edited to add line-ups and snide remarks. ;-)

Not Tribe game related but, as much as we may all hate the Tigers, can't help but root for Max Scherzer today...... he's pitching in spite of the fact that his brother commited suicide within the last few days.

Tempting fate here. Solid 2-0 win last night without a game thread.

Nickname proposal. Jose Lopez--"Slash"

Because he's the Tribe's 25th man/cleanup hitter. Most probably a baseball first.
Bottom 4th: Cleveland
- J. Kipnis grounded out to shortstop
- A. Cabrera doubled to deep left
- N. Swisher doubled to center, A. Cabrera scored
- J. Giambi doubled to deep right center, N. Swisher to third, N. Swisher out at home
- J. Giambi caught stealing, catcher to third

1 run, 3 hits, 0 errors

I thought of that but I figured what the heck, we'll lose anyway since it's a SOFT-TOSSING LEFTY we've NEVER seen. OTOH, I think most of us would agree that Gomez needs to ride the C-bus right now. Keuchel may be a blessing in disguise.

Boston Media is reporting Youk and cash have been traded to the White Sox for Matt Thornton and a PTBNL

Glad we didn't wind up with him.

Let's count the number of times Gomez intentionally pitches inside tonight.

I'd swear his last two starts he's gone inside twice and both of those times the catcher was set up away and he missed his location.

Craponacracker. I walk out of listening range for five minutes and the Old, Crappy version of Gomez shows up. But...but...he was SO good for 4 innings? Bu-bye Gomez, enjoy High Street...

McAllister pitches tonight for the Clippers. Lined up perfectly to pitch on Thursday in Baltimore.

As much as I hate Youkillis shiny head and sex pest beard, I hope we actually end up being the team that acquires him.

He's not the hitter he used to be but, when you're batting Jose Lopez clean-up, you can't be picky!

NoNoNO! I have to see news about Youk all the time since I live 60 miles away from Fenway. He's been a pain for a couple of years now. I'd rather YOU played 3rd/1st than have Youk so much as in our ballboy's uniform.

Come ON guys. I've had front row seats to the Youkilis show for as long as he's been in Bahstun. His production started to slide a couple years ago. Really started to nosedive last year. Has't been much all this year, even before WILL (why do people keep calling him "Wes"?) Middlebrooks came up. But if you want to watch a player question EVERY FRACKIN' STRIKE CALL an ump makes, well then he's your man.

If we got him he'd be garbage for garbage. (Now watch, the Tribe will acquire him and he'll be great the rest of the year. I would happily eat my words if that happened so long as I could wash them down with a Great Lakes brew. )

Trust me I know how far your hatred of the sux goes ;-) ;) its about the same as mine with the Skankees except I know my hatred is far more irrational. :dingle:

But even if he might be on the decline He still hit .258 with 17 hr and 80 rbis last year....He is Albert Belle on this team. 3 straight years of over .300 and he is only 33. Ill take a chance.

I hate Youk because he WHINES. No one who plays sports should be wussy enough to whine like a girl. Youk's a girly whiner. I hate Pedroia too, but he doesn't whine. At something like 5' 5" you could almost excuse it, but he crabs like a real guy. If the Tribe ever put him in an Indians' uniform I would be OK with it as much as I hate him here as a Red Sux.

FWIW, Youk was in the dugout at the start of this game. Not too sure how much he'll be in there though since Middlebrooks is 2-2 with 33 RBI over his 40 ABs since his call-up. So far a run-scoring double and solo home run. Youk is gone by the end of this weekend if the Sux can find a taker...

Just say no to Youk. His numbers on the season are almost identical to Kotchman.

Youk: .225/.670; 4 HRs and 13 RBI in 142 AB
Kotch: .225/.630; 6 HRs and 27 RBI in 209 AB

Youk is hitting .174 in June and .191 on the road. He's much better in Fenway. I don't see how replacing Kotchman with Youk at first is going to improve the offense. Hell, he's no better than Lopez.

I can't see him DHing for Hafner either, except maybe against left-handed pitching. Youk is hitting .243/.764 against lefties, which is nothing spectacular. If they're going to rest Pronk against lefties they might as well just have Lopez DH and have Marson catch with Santana playing 1st base.

And none of the above takes into account the probability of additional injuries or the "clubhouse cancer" thing. Or the money we would have to pay him.

He would probably be an upgrade over Shelley Duncan as a right-handed bat off the bench, except that Duncan gets almost no at-bats anymore so what's the point? Also, Youk can't play left field when Damon needs a day off to rest his 38-year-old bones.
