He cant be worse than Damon.

A God Damn dead man would understand that if a minor league bus in any city took a real sharp right turn, a Zack McCalister would likely fall out. - Lead Pipe

This needs to be repeated many times.
He's been doing better in AAA than Vlad, right?

Hitting over .300 but no power.
Normally I hate these sentimental "let's sign a player from the glory days" posts, but why the fuck not?
Stick him at DH for a couple of weeks - if it works out you find room for him when Haf comes back. If it doesn't, you move on.
Can't hurt.

Certainly wouldn't hurt attendance. From a PR standpoint at least, it's worth some thinking about.

There's enough offensive deadweight on this team (Damon, Cunningham, Kotchman, even Duncan) that they certainly wouldn't have any problem making room for him.
But would he settle for the piddling amount the Indians could afford?

I can't see any team offering him any more than the ML minimum plus incentives, so I don't see $$ be a sticking point.

Manny always seemed to have trouble fully understanding the concept of money when he was here, anyway. We could probably trick him into playing for nothing.

Just what Santana needs, that jag-off loafing around the field and lockeroom.
People put up with shit when you H-I-T.
He can't anymore, it's why that circus act will not get any sort of deal save a team bascially giving him the absolute minimum - and he may not get that.
See Owens, Terrell.

I won't guess as to how he will fare if somebody decides to pick him up, but I will say that I'm suprised to see that he looks to be in decent shape, and not a complete fat ass (like he was when he left the bigs, I believe).

Tribe fans make solid points in stating why they don't want him.
But I always return to: compared to what, exactly?
And I don't get the feeling Carlos Santana's selfishness is going to improve or decline further based on a guy they pick up who better produce or be cut loose.
In fact, cutting Damon should be done now, and let it be a lesson that production matters.
What am I missing? From goosing attendance/excitement to having nothing to lose out of the black hole bottom 3rd of the lineup, I see no downside.
