You watch it last night? Holy crap, fantastic drama.

5-1 KSU lead cut to 5-4. Flashes get two more in 8th on more shitty Oregon defense to make it 'comfortable' at 7-4 and then proceed to load the bases with Ducks in bottom of 9th with no outs, give up two runs while getting two outs, load the bases again and then watch this happen:

"Great minds think alike. The opposite is also true."

"None of us is as dumb as all of us."

Yeah, I've been following this team. Just one win away from the College World Series. I think that's a big deal, especially for a cold weather team.

I'm pulling for them.

How many teams make it to Omaha?
According to my sources CDT farts in the tub and bites the bubbles.

8 teams make it. Believe they re-seed after all 8 make it.
Playing here is the closest thing to heaven. Really, I mean it's amazing to be in a place where the fans truly cherish their football team and stick behind them win or lose. Watched all the way to the end. Surprisingly small but scrappy bunch. They have been getting some guys drafted so the talent is there. Tonight is all about the pitching but I like Kents 1-9 a bit better. So oregons pitcher better be on.

Gonna have 2 teams from north of the mason-dixon in Omaha. Stony Brook is going to take out LSU tonight to win the series 2-1. I hate he fact that they are beating LSU, but it's a great story for Stony Brook. Their coach took that job in 1991 when they were a D3 program. They are solid, disciplined hitters 1-9, smart on the bases, decent starting pitching.

Hopefully some new programs making the final 8 help bolster the popularity of college baseball around the country.

Anyone else notice Oregon's field is artificial except for the pitcher's mound?

Weird.

Too busy wondering why KSU brought in a lefty freshman who struggled with the moment Saturday night to this game tonight. He just puked up a 2-0 lead and I don't like the way this is going for Kent. Like they felt like scoring 2 was enough and did nothing after it.

Chris Perez-like with 94 fastball and a biting slider. KSU's gonna need an oddity or about three extra innings to get him out of the game. He's pitched in all 3 games. He can lose it for a couple hitters though he looks really sharp tonight.

All weekend long that was a tough, tough sky when games started at 10pm EST. Happened a few times Saturday/Sunday.

Awful way to lose a game but Shurfey's penchant for walks bit him. I know it's easy to say from here but they should have patterned that kid. Sliders first couple pitches, fastball away, slider, slider.

Of course, believing it's coming and hitting his are two different things.

What a game, love this scrappy KSU team. Best thing about Omaha is I won't have to stay up till 1am to watch any of the games.

Right now it looks like Arkansas will pull this out , making them KSUs opponent in Omaha. Tough looking team, and I got to imagine ARK fans will travel better then KSUs. That being said I can't count this KSU team out against anyone, to much heart.

Another exciting finish by the Flashes, and a well deserved trip to Omaha.

OK, id The Flayshes took out the Big 10 champs close to home, the pac 12 champs at home, and one of the better/best SEC teams at home, do they have a legitimate chance to take the whole Jake Taylor lovin' thing?.

The boys out West have them as the longest shot @ +1200 to win it all.

Stonybrook next @ +1000.

Florida #1 @ +200.

Arkansas was a shitty draw but could have been worse.

If I had a dollar I'd put it on fla. state.

Based on what? The only team on paper that would have been a better draw is Stony Brook and I'm not so sure that would have been a good draw as they can mash. Kent State has taken out Kentucky, Purdue and Oregon so far and Arkansas doesn't blow any of those teams out of the water with the possible exception of the Boilers. To a certain degree, the Hogs are a mirror image of Kent State playing in the SEC. Good to great pitching, solid defense but lineups that are possibly suspect against top end pitching.

On paper it is a good matchup and like I inferred in the other thread, quite likely a low scoring affair waiting to happen. But it is baseball afterall, so anything is bound to happen.

Based on SEC , and talent. There is a reason there are 3 SEC teams in it.

You are right on your analysis , but everyone wanted StonyBrook in the draw, Kent second.

I am a Flash fanatic and will cheer till I pop a vein, but odds are against them is all I am saying.

The Hogs are Kent on roids.

Walks are killing Starn.

Not hitting isn't helping, but you can't give away free base runners.

Blue is giving an extra ball outside the black. They need to change their approach at the plate and hit away.

In comes the Big Freshman Walk Machine . Stay with Wilson.

Lyon is really, really good behind the dish.
