Not necessarily. There are other things that can numb the mind besides redundancy. Right off the top of my head I'm thinking women, drugs, and alcohol. I'm betting Eeyore prefers the last two.

Cute teddy bears, Donk. I take it this means you're passing on my invitation to join the grownups?

Wonder which one of those "NBA Coaches" that obviously watch all the games and know more than anyone on earth, voted Carlos Boozer for all-defensive team.

In a perfect world five players would have received 29 votes for first team and five would have received 29 votes for second team. Nothing's perfect.

In 2010 the Baseball Writers Association voted Andre Dawson into the Hall of Fame with 78% of the votes. Also getting votes were David Segui (1), Ellis Burks (2), Kevin Appier (1), and Eric Karros (2), among many others. These were credentialed sportswriters and journalists casting those ballots and clearly none of those players should be anywhere near Cooperstown. Does that mean the entire process is invalid and Dawson doesn't deserve to get in?

You can find flaws in any process. But what's really going on here is that some posters have been pounding the table and screaming from draft day on that TT sucks and the Cavs made a huge mistake in drafting him. These people have put their reputations and egos on the line and would like nothing better for TT to fall on his face so they can crow about being a better talent evaluator than Chris Grant. That's all this is about. Eeyore admits he's "barely a Cavs fan". He's a big Eeyore fan, though.

People with huge egos that are fully invested in a position will do practically anything to protect those egos. So if someone presents them with an inconvenient fact, they'll move heaven and earth to try and discredit either the fact or the person presenting it, or both. This is a good example. If you don't like the fact that TT was voted by NBA head coaches onto the All-Rookie team, simply point out that 1 of those 29 coaches cast a dumb ballot on the All-Defensive team and claim that this invalidates the All-Rookie results.

Right, and Andre Dawson should not be in the Hall of Fame because somebody voted for Kevin Appier.

And just for good measure, also claim that posters in the blogosphere know better than NBA head coaches who the best players are because NBA coaches don't watch film of their opponents. :lmfao:

I'm constantly amazed at the gyrations people will go through to protect their egos and spin inconvenient facts into fiction. And I'm wasting my time trying to put some facts on the table in front of people with their eyes shut, their hands over their ears, and their mouths yammering as loudly as possible to drown out those inconvenient facts.

The funny thing is that Biyombo could very well have a better career than TT once he catches up on the developmental curve. That's all you have to say.

NBA Coaches and players have admitted 100s of times over the years that during the regular season they coach to their own team's strengths instead of to the other team's tendencies. Mike Brown this year admitted to not caring who they were playing and spending the season refining his new system with the Lakers roughly once a week. Popovich has admitted about 75x through the years that he is concerned with developing his system and doesn't care who they are playing in the regular season (he usually admits as much when asked about how he plans to win sitting his stars every third day). It's a fact, not something I am making up.

Fuck, I just read an interview from KG where he openly admitted to never watching another team play before the playoffs since 2001. KG, you know, the most obsessive and hard working PF in NBA history?

You don't know anything about the league, you don't follow it and you a piece of shit troll, so keep saying whatever you want, good for you.

I'm really glad you brought up the MLB Hall of Fame though, it is a strong testament to just how much you don't follow the NBA.

PS: Guys like Kelly Dwyer, Hollinger and Zache Lowe watch nearly every single NBA game every season, it isn't physically possible to watch more games than them. They are like... the opposite of you.

And BTW: scouting reports that break down players tendencies are not nearly the same thing as regularly watching other teams play. Again, they see these other teams 2-4 times a year.... it's just not worth it to coach to other teams systems on a nightly basis. It is however worth it to produce a scouting report that says player x sucks going to his left (although christ, players like James Harden that cannot go right still manage to go left at will).

Fuck, the Spurs put a computer on their bench during the playoffs to analyze tendencies, something you NEVER saw during the regular season.

And if you don't realize that Carlos Boozer is one of the five WORST defensive players in the league, well you don't because you are a cunt sniffing troll that doesn't follow the NBA. That's why you have dropped 2000 troll words about the single dumbest award in the history of the league, Second Team All Rookie.

You are the only person on this board perverse enough to troll over something this fucking meaningless and then write things like TT can't dunk or shoot but I don't care!!!

Similar to how I have described my only argument re: Biyombo and Thompson rationally about 500x before your trolling behavior became so disgusting it became a waste of my time. I never have said anything beyond, not only did they take the wrong player, they didn't even take the player I liked most out of the raw/upside types (Biyombo and TT). However instead of acknowledging me writing that about 9 months ago you have proceeded to troll and continue to ruin this board on a daily basis.

You know, comparing people voting for the Hall of Fame, something which spans every living generation, should always be compared to people voting for second team all NBA Defense - 2012.

Same thing, ya know?

OK, I think I have the whole picture now.

1. TT can't dunk.

2. NBA head coaches don't watch film of opponents, they get handed computer printouts. (Somebody should tell these guys to stop relying on statistics and watch the games, doncha think?)

3. Because they don't watch other teams play, they don't know who the best defenders and rookies are.

4. Even if they did know, they don't fill out their All-Star ballots, they have interns do it.

5. TT sucks, and anybody who says he doesn't is ill informed, even if that somebody is 14 NBA head coaches.

6. Biyombo sucks, too, but having a center who can't score is better than having a power forward who can't score.

I'm not going to argue with any of that.

By the way, I see that I'm your Favorite Player. Does that mean we're best friends?

I tend to agree but that's a topic for another board. Hey, do you think all those baseball writers let their interns fill out their ballots? That could explain it, you know.

And that's what I get for giving a half-way sincere reply to the troll.

Yup, back to just calling you a cunt and posting pictures of teddy bears for eternity (or at least until you have your Whack Phisto Moment, melt and get yourself banned - and it is coming.... it took me years with Whack, but it all worked out).

There's always hope, but don't hold your breath on me having some kind of meltdown or head explosion. I just don't take this stuff all that seriously...it's sports discussion, not my life. And my ego is not invested in protecting my POV at all costs, so if somebody proves me wrong I'm not too bent out of shape about it.

But if you want to try and get me banned, go for it. I figure if you can repeatedly call someone a cunt sniffing troll, suggest they kill themselves, and post a video of a child with Downs' Syndrome and not even get cautioned, then it's pretty much impossible to get banned on this board.

Life is pretty good as a cartoon character. Assuming you don't include Anime as a cartoon. Those dudes have issues that even hot anime chicks and cool swords can't overcome.
