5/16 Mariners vs. Indians

Unread postby redneckofsc » Wed May 16, 2012 4:10 pm

Starting Pitchers

Seattle: Hernandez (3-2, 2.29 ERA)
Cleveland: Jimenez (3-3, 5.18 ERA)

-The Mariners (16-22) have a .233 batting average, one of the worst in the AL
-Choo is batting .302 in his last 13 games
-Damon is 11 for 22 with a homer and four doubles off Hernandez

Hopefully we can win both of these contest, and go into the series against Miami on a good note.

Vegas has the tribe as an underdog against Hernandez, despite being at home against a team with a terrible offense. Putting Jimenez on the mound doesn't help the cause either.

I wonder if we are starting to look at a DL situation for Hannahan. Maybe see Chisenhall recalled?

Solid start.

That split didn't even make it to the front edge of the batter's box.

That could've been a lot worse. Could've been better without Kotchman stepping in quick sand.

1 run might be too many against Felix though.

Geez Montero may be the worst catcher I have seen at this level.

I'd like to see the discussion between Felix and Montero in the dugout.

Plenty of baseball left, but the Twins have 5 off Porcello and 3 Tiger errors in the bottom of the 2nd.

If you're going to walk a guy, at least make an effort to keep him close so he doesn't turn it into a double.

It's AL only. Musial and Walker don't apply.

Carew and Ichiro for sure. Not sure on DiMaggio.

Edit: No Molitor. .353 was his high season.

Stan the Man was in the NL. And Walker. Di Maggio? - don't know if he got to .370.

Got the ESPN game on in the background and they just flashed up a couple of great Rays stats: -

Tonight is the 934th straight game the Rays have had where they've started a pitcher 30 or under. (since June 25 2006)

Also, the 203rd straight game started by a pitcher they drafted!!!!!

Anyone else see Pronk look over to RF just before that double? He was aiming for the gap and he knew what was coming. Brilliant.
