In the NFL, giving any team a "ceiling" of 3 wins in May is simply retarded.

When is the 2013 draft thread gonna start, anyway?

I wouldn't give the Browns a ceiling of 3 wins. I think they are going to shock the rest of the NFL and get 4 wins. Maybe even 5. OK, that's probably just crazy talk.
by game 6, the Browns lost games mostly due to a constipated offense. The run D certainly did them no favors either. Phil Taylor didn't solidify the run by any stretch of the imagination. He really didn't pass rush like a monster where the center of the DL consistently caved in although he had moments. I don't think he was an impactful first round pick. I thought he was good to awe-ite mostly, which to me is a borderline disappointment -- in year one. While he has a chance to get better and is not a bust now that he's potentially out I'm not gonna flip and be all "Oh shit, season over", particularly when they added depth on the DL, and Frostee can move inside on 3rd downs. The levee just didn't break.

Good question. I'd like to know how LeCharles Bentley got staph and almost died. Nearly dying is the kind of thing that tends to discourage free agents from wanting to come here. That and years and years of directionless losing.

I'd love it if they were in contention for the number one pick. Fact is, no matter how bad they are, there's always someone worse. Usually a couple teams. They're bad enough to be bad, but not bad enough to get the players that will make them good.
They'll win 5 or 6 games this year and be picking around 11 to 13.

Well then change that line to "....winning 5 God Damn games a year."
That makes it sooo much less ridiculous.

Winning 5 or 6 is what I think they WILL do.
That's not their "ceiling".
Saying that if everything falls just the right way and they get really really lucky, then the Browns can win 3 games is retarded.
Stick "5" in that sentence and it's still retarded.
I'm on record saying I think 9 is their ceiling. Does that mean I think they'll win 9? Hell no. But if they won every close game they were in last year, they would've been a playoff team. That's what a ceiling is - win every game you have a chance to win. Look to last year's Broncos as an example of a team that flirted with its ceiling.
To say that the Browns will only have the opportunity - will only have a chance - to win 3 games is flat retarded.

We're all butt hurt. He's the one who's watched this team trip on its dick under this regime for two straight years and sees '9' as a ceiling. That's funny. This team can jump two inches off the ground. In terms of talent they're fucking midgets. They ain't hitting a ceiling higher than a midget that can jump 2" off the ground can hit.
I'll take 3 and Hiko can have 9. The guys who's closest wins a case of beer.
You take your ceiling and I'll take reality and we'll see who's buying the case

Interesting hearing you, Hiko, and LP's opinions on next year. I'd ignorantly place an over/under at 4.5 without looking at any gambling sites. What would you guys place them at?

Ha ha. I had to google "juice sports betting" to understand what you were trying to say. I haven't gambled since a Vegas bachelor party in 2007.Banana for Peeker.
Just curious what knowledgeable people thought; probably better as a thread in 3 or four months.
I think that's the right number.
I'll take the under and you'll pay me with all those excitable boys' paychecks. You know, the guys who magically start to believe in August when Weeden is beating UDFAs like dogs in camp and no one is allowed to hit anyone.
You want to play it safe then go 5.5 though. All you want's the juice anyway, right?

Did you have a retard sandwich for lunch?
Ceiling. Ceiling. Understand the word.
The best they could possibly do if they won every close game and every team's QB got hurt and the gods intervened is 3 wins?
That's the absolute best we could hope for? They'll only be in 3 games. They'll only have a chance to win 3 games.
9 wins is not my prediction. 9 games is what I predict they will be "in" come the 4th quarter.
You only think they'll be in 3? When last year they were in, what, 11? 12?
They've gotten so much worse somehow that they will only be in 3 games this year?
Stop eating those sandwiches.
