Here's de ting. I'm not gonna talk out of both sides of my mouth.

Phil Talyor was / is not a great player. Big Ty is better than him. We'll get a chance to see if Heckert is a foo or truth yet again with all of his first 4 picks very early. This is Heckert's signature draft.

As much as I look at the schedule and think by game 6, the Browns lost games mostly due to a constipated offense. The run D certainly did them no favors either. Phil Taylor didn't solidify the run by any stretch of the imagination. He really didn't pass rush like a monster where the center of the DL consistently caved in although he had moments. I don't think he was an impactful first round pick. I thought he was good to awe-ite mostly, which to me is a borderline disappointment -- in year one. While he has a chance to get better and is not a bust now that he's potentially out I'm not gonna flip and be all "Oh shit, season over", particularly when they added depth on the DL, and Frostee can move inside on 3rd downs. The levee just didn't break.

Mysterio is dead nuts on. The improvement, if there is to be any, will had to come from the OL beefing up, Little and Norwood getting better and Carlton perhaps evolving from Sasquatch/Nessie status, TR being as adverted, and Weeden having a solid rookie season (altho there will be rookie miscues) as a guy who can use the whole field and doesn't need Depends (TM) in the pocket. I'm not gonna get all polyanna crazy like Hiko but if we do that and we'll win a few games and be in most except all but the true playas and SB contenders who outclass us. That doesn't happen and we struggle vs the Chefs.

The real fear is if this is recurring and PT gets all busty instead of a scent interior player or hopefully better as he learns.
