We have no idea where our 1st pick will be, so all talk is really moot until May 30th (when the lottery is held). What we do know is that we currently hold picks #24, #33, and #34 in a deep draft.

I highly doubt that we're bringing in 4 rookies. I would assume that at least 1 of those 3 picks is traded for a current NBA player (Cavs are under the cap limit and are allowed to make such a deal). If I had to guess I'd say we would move the 24th pick. I need to look over past drafts to see what kinda player we can hope to net with a pick, although Rudy Fernandez last year comes to mind. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember many NFL type trades in the NBA, ie the 24th and 34th for the 17th. I'd be fine with such a scenario though.

I'd also venture to say that as a rebuilding team, we should use one of the 2nd rounders on a Euro who will stay overseas for at least another year. But the current FO has shown that they may be averse to such an idea (see Vala).

Some players that would interest me with those later picks: Doron Lamb, John Jenkins, Moe Harkless, Royce White, Will Barton. All high upside picks. I know nothing about the Euros but am fine in theory with using one of the 2nd rounders on one.

Uhm, no one is trading a decent young proven player that isn't a cancer or demanding there way out for pick 24.

And a decent young player is the only thing that matters to this team.

I want Draymond Green with the second 1st-rounder. Senior and proven leader on his college team. Already know he was well coached by Izzo. The SF position is abominable for the Cavs and he could start right away and has potential to develop.

Can you package two or all three of the latter three picks to move up a few spots for a good-fit player? NBA is all about quality over quantity. Which would make such a trade beneficial to us but difficult to sell.

I don't know the validity of these guys, but they have us drafting him with our 33rd pick.

I wondered the same thing. Two Cs and 2 SFs.
And I know Eye has a lot of support out there that Drummond should not be a top 5 pick at all.
Of course, maybe they are aware of our TT pick last year, so maybe they're right.
