The Cabin in the Woods

Anyone seen it yet?

I watched it this past weekend and thought it was pretty good.

92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes (Avatar has an 85%, The Dark Knight 94%, Hunger Games 85%).

$35.6M so far on a $12M budget.

It wasn't your typical slasher horro movie, but had an actual plot. There were some bizzare things in it, like the Unicorn, the clown and aqua man.

I would watch it again, but the people I went with, said they hated it. It was filmed three years ago, so Chris Hemsworth looks different in it.

Different. Mildly entertaining. More chuckles than screams. If you insist, see a bargain matinee.

I thought it was great. Joss Whedon hates those "torture porn" movies like Hostel so i figured it wouldnt be gruesome or scary perse, but like it was mentioned above it had a plot. Very few "horror" movies are actually rewatchable, this is one of the exceptions.

I was also impressed withw aht tehy were able to do ith just a 12 million dollar budget. This movie had the chance top be even better with a larger budget. the CGi at the end was a tad chessy and the film suffered because of that.

Finally watched this last night, damn entertaining. Not much horror in it, but funny and interesting. Lots of good one liners from the stoner, who was basically the voice of logic to try and stop everyone else from doing the stupid things that people do in horror movies.

Cellar door blows open.

Jock: Must've been the wind.

Stoner: How does that even make sense?

Girl finds diary of some girl whose family kills a lot of people, now they are sacrificing themselves and hope to be regenerated if someone reads the Latin phrase written within.

Stoner: Ok, I'm drawing a line in the fucking sand. Do NOT read the Latin!
It's only progress if you eventually get somewhere.
