SD:

We won't trade up for a franchise QB , but will for a position you can find in the seventh round , and use four picks to do it .

The stoopidity never stops with this crew .

He's Peyton Hillis for more money .

W had that , created a hole and filled it with the same man for four fuckin picks

Yippee .

Never mind we sent the next Miami Franchise Qb to them for free .

We don't need one of them .

Could be worse. I've been messing with some douchetard who is taking the draft WAAAAYYYY too seriously. I started messing with him on another messageboard and he's just acting like every ridiculous thing I say is gospel and losing his shit over it.

The first post was an honest joke, hoping to elicit some kind of *HA HA*. Nope, I get the Mel Kiper run down as a reply. After that I couldn't help myself.

Losing interest now, plus the Christmas Ales I held in reserve for tonight are starting to kick in.

they had the 4th pick this year, anyone they got would likely be a stud. My main problem is the position, it's not that important anymore. For as good as Peterson is, what has that team done with him until they got Favre and then after Favre left?? You need a qb...period. What do the Jags do with Maurice Jones Drew?/ What do the Titans do with Chris Johnson?? Picking a rb that high is bad.

We've (not you and I, the royal We) been over this ad nauseum: There was no QB to take. They fucked themselves when they missed out on RG3 and they did the smart thing by not reaching for Tanneyhill. Richardson was the clear BPA at a position of need, even if that position isn't as valuable as it has been in years past.

Case closed. Other teams don't need RB's? The Browns aren't "other teams." They are a stagnant stinking mess and have been for a long time. They have a QB with an outside shot at being successful in the league. They needed a quick but significant positive change; and I think they got one in Richardson.

Big time running backs are not needed in NFL football anymore. Don't you watch? Call me crazy but I believe the Giants had 2 thousand yard receivers and no thousand yard running backs this year. Brandon Jacobs 571 yards Ahmad Bradshaw 659 Yards. And you're asking if I watch??? I don't want to beat a dead horse here, but, well yeah, those two numbers together are definitely over a thousand.

Like Hill's measureables but something just tells me that Wright is a better football player.

Either one though I don't think they go after. Think it's DE or RT.

Still I would be interested in either. Both have concerns though.

I am actually very happy now. I love this pick. Beat Luck, Griffin and Tanneyhill straight up last year. Granted he beat their defenses not them, but he is a massive upgrade over Mccoy.

Part of me likes this. Part of me hates this. Seems like we've had too many QB competitions in recent memory where both QB's amounted to shit. We need to fill so many holes. And we take a FUCKING qb named brandon fucking weeden. I hate all of this. Silver lining from a pretty great first pick---- they're gonna fuck up the 2nd like no other. god damn it

Neither one of those guys is a stud running back. Please just stop. Cruz was over 1500 yards and Nicks over 1000, that is the game now. You just made my point. They won the super bowl with a 600 yard and 500 yard back and two studs at wide receiver and a great qb. The Packers won the Super Bowl with a guy who didn't start a game in the regular season playing rb...Starks. The Ravens have a grand total of zero super bowl appearances with Ray Rice.

Interesting takes. Thought it would be the other way.

I thought Weeden would be there at 37 or if we got antsy could trade with NE at 31. Still if H&H think he's got it then I guess in theory you need to go after him.

Tomorrow will be an interesting night to see what we go after.

Yeah, I agree. If you're taking Weeden you take Blackmon with the first pick instead of a player at the most meaningless position in the NFL. Now that would have been sweet if that had happened. You get a qb and receiver who already know each other inside and out.

That would be terrific. I was thinking, "Hey while this guy learns the pro game on the sidelines, Colt can have his final opportunity at success." Then I realized the dudes a few years older than I am. Yizikes.

Where the hell they gonna go with this next pick? Could one even begin to guess?

LBs:Mayo, Spikes & Hightower (Ninkovich as backup)

Just can't help thinking all these teams picking would not have taken Weeden, makes me frustrated in that regard. To put this in perspective, Weeden is almost 2 years older than Weinke was years back.

And the Giants and Packers both have great QB's while Baltimore doesn't. This isn't that hard to comprehend; there were no QB's to take, therefore the Browns went with BPA. We all understand what that this is a passing league but there wasn't anyone worth taking to help the passing game. If AJ Green had been there, fantastic, he's the pick. Justin Blackmon is no AJ Green; Kalil is redundant. The pick was always Richardson or Claiborne and with how terrible the Browns offense was last year, you can't blame them for taking Richardson.

Agree 100%. Vomit inducing nausea. The second pick after ours (#23 overall) tells you a lot about why we suck and the Steelers are kicking our ass year after year. Browns panic and reach about 14 picks early while the Steelers just sit back take their BPA.
I don't need to be patient, they're going to be shit forever.

It would have been a package deal for me...only draft WEeden with Blackmon. In games against STanford, and Luck, Baylor and Griffin, Texas a m and Tanneyhill, the best player on the field in every single one of those games and I watched every one in it's entirety was Justin Blackmon by a large margin. Those two togetther (blackmon and weeden) have the Browns in the playoffs by 2013. I'm not sold on Weeden with some random running back taken with the 3rd pick.

I bet they could have had him at 37. I would rather have gone OL or WR.

Agree 100%. Vomit inducing nausea. The second pick after ours (#23 overall) tells you a lot about why we suck and the Steelers are kicking our ass year after year. Browns panic and reach about 14 picks early while the Steelers just sit back take their BPA.

much better pick than Richardson by astronomical margins. richarson was the huge mistake.

I don't want Brandon Weeden at any pick. Maybe i'd accept him as UDFA. Am I not merciful?

Very true. Textbook Browns draft fuckup. Out of all the legitimately possible scenarious, this had to be just about the worst. It amazes me how they go ballsy trade up for a franchise player and follow that with such an awful decision. Don't get me wrong, Weeden could turn out to be a beast, but I've said it here before, and I'll say it once more: THE CLEVELAND BROWNS ORGANIZATION'S PAST DICTATES THE FACT THAT THEY'RE NOT NOW OR IN THE NEAR FUTURE A TEAM THAT SHOULD BE GAMBLING ON THEIR PICKS! They did it with Colt. They did it with Brady fucking Quinn. Tonight they've done it again with Brandon Weeden. If they picked Claiborn, or Kalil, or even Blackmon, guys who IMO won't be making as big a splash as Richardson will next year, I'd be lighting shit on fire right now.

I can not imagine a worst start to this draft... or any draft. But hey, Best RB available.

I know yer just busting balls, but to my point - not saying we should have drafted De Castro, but this whole desperation/panic mode spells impending doom for 2012 and the future of the org. Fat Man walks around all offseason preaching patience, then shoots in his pants TWICE in round 1.
I don't need to be patient, they're going to be shit forever.

Patience never has a chance against Jammies and Dawg Pound Mike. Walrus drew a line at more wins this season, he obviously means it.

Hopefully you agree with the part about him shooting his pants... cause he did. WCO guy drafting a RB at 3. Consider my mind blown.
