Lets trade up to #3 and draft Drummond and end all doubt.

Might not have to do any trading. The Bulls resting players should beat us easy...

Bulls still need to win tonight to get home court in a potential Finals matchup with the Spurs (and the Spurs don't play until 10:30). I'm sure they'll rest a few guys more than normal but I don't see them jeopardizing the game.

They lost David Robinson and Sean Elliot for most of the season with legitimate injuries and still didn't end up with the worst record? How is that tanking?

David Robinson was ready to return with 20+ games left. They held him out in order to tank. Its the most well-known tanking job since the lottery began.

The Bulls won't be the only ones 'resting'. Gee, Thompson, and Jamison all played less than a half last night, Irving didn't even make it a whole quarter before getting a permanent seat on the bench. I got a loge seat to watching the Luke Walton, Donald Sloan, & DJ Kennedy Show. Fan Appreciation Night was faaaaaaaaaaaan-tastic.

Which loge? Was in one last night as well. Was rather dissappointed they didn't do full contact musical chairs for that Kia

This is one of those frequent times I enjoy another individuals misery. Resting our "star" players adds an order of magnitude to the certainty. Plus I wanna get a good look at guys like Manny Harris and whatever his name is in some key regular season gametime. We have alot hinging on this!

Our corporate one is on the lower level in the corner behind the Cavs' bench. We have a great view from there and the company springs for the Heineken, so I try grabbing it whenever there's an event.

Dang. We finished a game back of the 2nd slot. Now we need the luck of the ping pong balls.

Final standings by suckitude ... draft slots:
Pos Team (wins)
1. Bobcats (7)
2. Wizards (20)
3T. Cavs (21)
3T. Hornets (21)
5T. Kings (22)
5T. Nets (22)
7T. Raptors (23)
7T. Warriors (23)

Wizards won their last 6. They had room to stop tanking. They were a virtual lock at 2. If it got close, they could go back to tanking.

I don't mind our ping pong ball situation.

We did a great job at the end of the year....at one point we climbed all the way to 6th worst and we get back to a tie for 3rd...nice. Who has the tie breaker us or New Orleans? I'm pretty sure they beat us once, I forget if we played them more than that.

No tie breaker, we split the balls from the 3rd and 4th slots with NO.

So the Cavs and Hornets split ping pong balls, and a coin flip determines which one picks first if neither gets a top-three pick. Given the Wikipedia page referenced earlier - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_Draft_Lottery - we can figure out the odds that the Cavs end up at any given draft slot:

1st: 13.75%
2nd: 14.15%
3rd: 14.45%
4th: 16.25%
5th: 30.8%
6th: 10.0%
7th: 0.6%

The 5th slot is the single most likely, but there's still better than a 42% chance of landing in the top 3 (and almost 59% in the top 4). So don't count on the Unibrow, but we're looking at a very high pick in a deep draft....

They're tied for 3rd so if 3 teams jump them in the lottery, which necessitates a coin flip with Sac'town that they lose, yes they could fall to the 7th in an extremely unlikely scenario.

I am with you:
We have a 42.65% chance to pick before the 4th spot (1,2,3).
We have a 41.4 % to pick below 4 (5,6,7)

They actually won 2 coin flips. Once with NO so that now the lowest the Cavs can drop is 6th (instead of 7th) and they also won for the Lakers pick which is now 24 instead of 25.
