Crotchman, Cunninham and Brantley. Ugh...we got three giant holes in that lineup. We need Damon and Grady ASAP. Add Chiz and move Jack to 1B and you got a nice line-up there.

Because we know its fair to compare two rooks to an established vet.

Not to mention White has like 50 career innings pitched and Pom is sitting at 20ish.

You cant be happy with Jimenez. Its horribly frustrating watching him not having any clue where his pitches are going. Not to mention he has an average fastball, which was one of his few strengths.

Thought we were up on our luck with that infield single and the hit off Hosmer's glove but the baseball God's even it out by not blessing Santana with a brain and having Hafner's ball hit the mound and allowing Escobar to gather up the ball.

Ubaldo's breaking pitch isn't fooling anyone and it's consistently in the dirt. He's not got any control or velocity with his fastball and he is not getting any swing and misses. A stronger sense of foreboding develops.

He is so frustrating, because even with the loss in velocity, he could still be very effective if he even had a little command. He has got alot of movement.

They need to tell Ubaldo to put his ego aside and simplify his approach. You can't throw 8 pitches if you're only spotting 1 of them. Three good pitches and one average pitch are going to get more guys out than 8 average to below-average pitches.

His fastballs, slider/splitter (if he can get it to break a fraction later) and changeup could do the job if he can start to locate them consistently enough.

There was a similar thing with Dice-K where he had about 3 different changeups and 2 fastballs along with 3 other pitches when he came over and Boston cut his repetorie down.

This was my point in an earlier post. He drives me crazy. His stuff is still pretty good, even with the velocity drop. But the lack of command kills any potential he may have.
