7 left handed twigs in the lineup for OAK. Interested to see what Marson's gameplan will be with all the LHB as I think he's far more perceptive with calling a game than Santana is.

That lineup makes me want to vomit!
Let's hope the top 4 can do some damage today...... Jose Lopez batting 5th?!

Gotta say I'm shocked Ross threw Hafner anything over the plate with the righty Lopez on deck.

Good to get Masterson a lead.
It is insanely bright in Oakland today. Pop ups could be an adventure.

Hannahan was just saving Marson the embarrassment of making two outs in that AB.

I like Marson catching Masterson. Give him the best defense you can and hope you get 3-4 runs.

Masterson's thrown more breaking balls in 2 IP today than he has in his other 3 starts combined.

Question
Is Hafner's crazy OBP a result or Pronk being back or the realisation from the rest of the league that there's a bunch of nobody's hitting behind him so why throw him a strike?!

Jason Donald's second straight night with an awful AB with men on base.
Re: Pronk, he's using the whole field and being selective. The walks are a product of a little of both, good ABs and nobody to fear behind him.

I think Pronk is mostly back, at least in the sense that he is a solid major league hitter.
Doubt the power will ever be quite the same, but he seem to be a real threat again.

The struggling with lefties is really in Masterson's head. He's aiming the ball against them. That doesn't really work.

After that walk.... since opening day Masterson has now allowed 18 hits, 10 walks and has only 5Ks in 12 innings.
Not pretty.

Choo channeling his inner Aaron Cunningham on that throw.
Everything for Masterson is belt high and out over the plate. Painful to watch.

Just a downright putrid performance by Masterson.
No rhythm, no control, no chance!
Damn lucky he only gave up the 4 runs.

Still an outstanding road trip.
Concerns with some guys? Sure. But I don't think anybody thought they'd come home 8-6 after leaving 1-4.
Day off tomorrow and get back after it Tuesday.

Has to play on the corners of the diamond. Too stiff and no fluidity in his movement. Footwork not middle infield quality either.
Still say he has major league quality offensive game when he gets the chance.
