MLB suspended Jeanmar Gomez for five games and fined him an undisclosed amount for throwing at Royals' third baseman Mike Moustakas on Saturday.
Gomez was ejected from Saturday's game after hitting Moustakas with the pitch and causing a benches-clearing incident. He has appealed the suspension and will make his next scheduled start Saturday against the Athletics.

It won't hurt nearly as much when the people of Cleveland have finished making all of their songs and statues in honor of his and the Mighty Jack Hannahan's heroism.
So very cool these two brave souls did what 99% of the players in the league would have and should have done.
Wonder if Hannahan will out OPS his fielding % this season. That'd be a trick.

On Twitter I am seeing that Chris Perez has been fined by MLB for the tweet he made after the incident in the game against the Royals on Saturday.

Carroll is a better offensive player and a more valuable player overall when you consider his optimal usage is as a utility player.
That JC is far, far more valuable than the JC that starts every day for Minnesota right now.
Much like Hannahan would be fine as a late inning defensive replacement and a corner IF who spelled actual, productive starters at the corner IF positions.
