Fair enough question. I think that Ubaldo has within his capacity to have an above 6 era. That would be a major disappointment. I just hope I'm wrong at this point.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. If, in fact, we thought we were getting an ace or near ace when the trade was made, then if he fails to perform to that level or even in the neighborhood, then yes, he could disappoint. If you are one that feels that we got hoodwinked on the deal, that the bar was much lower, then yes, it would be much harder for him to disappoint.

I am of the opinion that we traded our two top pitching prospects on the basis that Ubaldo was an ace (or close to it), under contract for 2.5 more years when we got him. So, yeah, if he ends up pitching like Jason Johnson, he will be a huge disappointment.
